Is the Couch to 5k worth trying as a start?

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend it. I started it in February last year, and was able to run 5k on a regular basis 3 months later. I'm 52 and hadn't done any running since school!
Just be careful to do your stretches before and after your walks / runs and do warm ups. I ignored this advice and picked up a knee injury 2 weeks in.

Definitely worth it I started out with that just doing the 3 runs to try and lose a bit of timber and by the time I could manage a 5k I started to enjoy running just for the fun of it, downloaded Strava and started booking events would recommend it to anyone who wants to get into running but doesn't think they can manage 5k straight away.

60 in November so thought i would give it a go
Great! It's really rewarding to see your progress while you do it.

If you have a smartphone, download an app called Strava to record your runs.

Feel free to post any questions in this group - there are far more experienced runners than me who can help with loads.
