What’s everyone’s average minute miles ?

I’d say for an ordinary training run I’m about 9min 30

race day - 8-8:30

Always use miles as a distance unless running is involved! A decent evening 6k I like to hover around 4:50min per km - that's a little faster than talking pace but not PB chasing park run pace.

Training runs seem to be about 8:45 - 9mins on average. If im pushing it on a fast one between 7:45 - 8. Hoping i can really push on now and get some miles in my legs over these next few weeks and bring that down to a comfortable 8:30 on a training run of 10 miles.

Anyone been running with a face mask on?
Could be something that might be required in the future.
Feel like I'd struggle to regulate my breathing if it becomes mandatory

I don't want to be a Boring Brian but is it constructive to compare these things? Everyone is different so you'll just get a wide range with some people ending up feeling inadequate.

I was generally more interested than any form of comparison- i run every day and still slower than majority of my mates, wouldn’t bother me if I came last in every race - as it’s myself I would aim to beat the next time

I was reading Maffetone and Jason Fitzgerald yesterday. Has anyone tried running in Heart Rate zone 2 for the entire run?

No, but I've just looked it up, and I'll give it a go. I suppose it will mean walking up the hills rather than running.

Thats how I interpreted it. Near impossible to go for a long run up here without any steep hills. The thing which deterred me so far was the advice not to lift any weights or do HIIT initially, as it places stress on the cardiovascular system. Its an interesting concept, backed by supporters who say they've ran PB's in endurance events
