I've had to back off recently. I bruised my ribs playing football last Wednesday, and they have been painful since. Only managed one run since then.
Played last night again, and felt my calf tweak, so I want to rest this. Last time I had a tear of my calf muscle, I was recovering for over a month.
I've run 1700km this year so far (1056 miles). One of my goals for the year was to run my first ever half-marathon. I have run four half marathons this year, including one with an elevation gain of 484 metres. I registered one as a virtual half-marathon to make it more official.
2019 - I ran 1,180 miles
this year, i'm on 1,114 miles
it's going to be close.

Piece of piss. In my commuting and racing days close to 5,000 miles a year was normal on the bike. I'd be disappointed if I did more miles in the car ;)How far did you get mate?
Planning on 3000 miles in total next year on bike, swim and run. 250 a month between them is doable I reckon
Suppose when I was commuting to Macclesfield on a daily basis I must have easily done 3000 miles if not more, wasn’t on Strava or even had a computer on the bike in those days.Piece of piss. gave up football for this reason. love playing the game too much. But the injuries sustained from games took its toll. One game or another, would come come limping, bruised, fractures, black eye few times. Wasn't worth it man. Last straw was broken ankle which prevented me from earning.I've had to back off recently. Yes, the miles soon clock up with the routine of regular commuting. The plan of 3,000 miles next year of running, swimming and cycling without regular commuting is decent and probably ideal for health, fitness and some competition. Good luck with it.Suppose when I was commuting to Macclesfield on a daily basis I must have easily done 3000 miles if not more, wasn’t on Strava or even had a computer on the bike in those days.
