Running thread

I know lots of runners who are in very good shape. I consider myself in decent shape too.
But those park run/running event photographs are a worse representation of us than those self check ou cams in ASDA.

I saw a pic of me running up a slight incline last week at my local park run.
Boy oh boy where did my ikkle knockers come from :(

Considering wearing a political t shirt so they don't publish these again.

Take a read of this mate

Cheers Gaz - will give that a good read.

As it happens, i planned a 12k tonight but finished work late and my energy has dipped of late (sleep is an issue).
My calves felt tight too (which is rare).
Just did a 6k instead and will rest from running till the weekend now I think.

Phone on charge, headphones on charge, work diary free and just waiting on the rain to stop when I landed awkwardly on my ankle after stumbling on the stair gate.

Not a serious sprain so hopefully only a day or two out. Could probably run on it now but from previous experience likely to go over on it again. Very frustrating.

Did my first 5k of the year last Saturday. About -5C, blowing a gale and in a white-out blizzard! The course was kept pretty clear, but the last mile was pure snow and ice, so i took it *very* gingerly. Clocked 40mins, which is slow, even by my standards. Got another this Saturday. Weather forecast much better, although no warmer.

Nice one TCP, do you feel any different at all from being off the beer? Not that I like to brag(on mondays) but I have been off it since last September, can't say I feel any different, but I don't miss the 3 day hangovers.
Since Last September? Were they on the Little Mix talent show?

Only difference I notice from "being off the beer" is being more refreshed the following day. But typically I only drink a few real ales on Saturday and sometimes a Sunday night anyway.

21 and a half miles Sunday long today, weirdly struggling with the menta side of it lately, didn't get out until just after 8 as couldn't be arsed getting up.
Was fine once I got the first 10 miles or so out of the way.
Stayed on a lot of the manc mara course, I count 6 little hills around the Timperley/Altrincham bit, they not much but enough to require a step up of effort.
