Running thread

Morning all
Did 17m rhis morning but I'm annoyed as I wanted to do 20m.
Not been feeling good last few days, very down and depressed maybe that's the problem at the moment.
It's 17 miles more than you would have done if you stayed in bed, 17 miles is a fucking long way mate and not to be sniffed at especially if yer not feeling 100%, keep turning up, the world spins everyday things will get better.

*Apart from the rags, them cunts will always be shite

Quit being hard on yerself for a start mate, the manc mara is what 7 or 8 weeks away and your well on target of your doing 17 miles at this stage.
Marathon training is exhausting, that's the hard part of the game, maybe concentrate a bit more on your recovery from training of your totally knackered, sleep is a big one, drink truck loads of water as well( I aim for 3 litres daily, but make sure there's either a bit of salt or maybe lemon in it, it really does help a lot)
Also keep eating, you'll get there chief

You're definitely on target mate. Plenty of time left as well.

If you're feeling tired, perhaps your body is telling you that you need a recovery week?

Completed the Bolton 10k this morning. Ran the first half in 30mins, dropped off pace wise the second half tackling a hill loop.

Happy though as it is an indicator of where I am currently fitness wise.

Keep on keeping on. You’re smashing it out of the park as far as I can see. Keep your head up and focus on how proud and elated you will be once you cross that finish line. Best of luck mate, we’ll all be cheering you on.

Parkrun tourist today. Did tooting common. Official time of 33.45. I make that fastest time since Oct 2024 and first time below 34 mins since May last year. That's down to consistency as been out 7 times this year. Only did 11 in total in 2025. Over 600 runners/walkers so bit cramped at start, nice flat course, mainly on path with a few puddles and muddy patches (if over taking). I really enjoyed it.

Tried Bolton parkrun this morning. Has anyone else ever done it ?

A test of fitness with a steep hill that you tackle twice, whilst other parts were up and down. Not as busy as other park runs and enjoyed the challenge.

The leader completed in 20:34
