Russian invasion of Ukraine

So you said he made good points without actually knowing what they were or being able to recall any of them?

The reason So many asked what the good points were is because he didn’t make any good points, he just regurgitated Kremlin nonsense that’s long since been disproved.

There are loads of topics under the umbrella of this war and what it means that do have good points on both sides and there is no easy answer, but rascals got near unanimous rejection not because only one opinion is allowed but because his was so bad.

He reposted and opinion piece from a marxist paper first thing in the morning, he never said if it was his beloef or not tbf.

When he first posted it a few debated it or dismissed it as not relevent or not the time for this discussion, myself included, and while the day went on it was nowt but afootnote arls the pages rolled on.

How it blew up hours after is anyones guess as the article had already been sidelined and Rascal had even moved on in the thread topics.

It was an opinion whether right or wrong it added to the thread as a side topic as many other things have but once people stop posting about it (as I will after this) it won't even be remembered over the actual ongoing war news and debate.

He’s no idea and fails to mention EU country’s purchases of Russian oil and gas is directly funding the war. That’s what matters not houses in Belgravia or yachts in Bermuda.

40 percent of our coal and 20 percent of our petroleum products come from Russia, AFAIK we haven’t stopped that either.

Lol I could not be bothered looking through his posts. If I find the time then maybe I will get back to you @domalino.

Russia bad = All agree, collective pat on the back.
Russia good = Pile on the traitor.

Does that sum it up? :)
Well considering Russia are indeed bad there's probably not much need for the second option.

Well the ease with which Russians have bought £multi-million pads in London and avoided tax liabilities and had easy access to our political leaders, just might have encouraged the Ruskies to take the piss.

Yeah, we are going to find out in the coming decades that capatalism has a tipping point - you know all those resources that we keep destorying for it?

They have a finite life span.
the great thing about capitalism is that it reacts to what the demand is. Take the environment as an example , now the world has been educated on the harm of fossil fuels, the demand will be for electric cars rather than diesel. wind, solar and tidal will be the source of energy rather than fossil fuels. Creative destruction will always occur in capitalism and that will drive invention and innovation
So I disagree about finite as we will simply switch or face new sources of supply
This is not the thread so I will leave it here

He’s been parroting Russian propaganda since this thread began and has had to constantly get debunked and corrected. A month ago he was defending Putin and having to get corrected before the war even began.

Then we had to go through his complete ignorance about how trump wouldn’t let it happen.

Yesterday he thought we shouldn’t be so keen to help out Ukraine because it’s full of neo nazis, and had to have it explained that the only reason he knew about the Azov group that makes up 0.025% of fighters on the Ukrainian side was because it was propaganda.

Obviously he had no idea about Russias 6,000 strong neo-nazi Wagner group they’ve sent in because wherever he’s getting this propaganda didn’t mention it.

We see and hear a lot of hand wringing about Russian troops, how they're just kids, they're
frightened, they don't want to be there, etc; Although it's a natural human reaction, to anyone with
any humanity, it's also a profoundly naive and dangerous view imo, when brutal invaders attack your land, kill your citizens and attempt to control the population by force. These 'Kids' need to be eliminated without mercy, Russian families must see thousands of body bags returning, mothers crying, and questioning the reasons for it. Destroying morale is one of the most effective methods of conducting a war.
To be fair, I don't think we should be tarring all troops with the same brush.

There are conscripts, regular troops, battle experienced troops and bloodthirsty Wagners.

If you were called up tomorrow and sent to fight in the Ukraine by the British Army, would you get there and simply refuse an order to take part in an offensive or shoot back at those shooting at you?
