This is awful, but I am not clear why anyone would willingly go and fight in another countrys war in the first place.....

I think I read that one of them is married to a Ukrainian and has Ukrainian citizenship.

I think Aslin was fighting in Syria against the Islamic state before he went to Ukraine in 2018, so he obviously enjoys it.
This is a message to all foreign fighters that if we capture you ,we will kill you.

Also, if Ukraine starts doing the same with Wagner POWS and they have a few, what happens then?

There was a sad inevitability that these two lads received the sentence they did. Whether it is carried out, we can only pray not.

UK political response is Russia will not get away with it. What they plan to do will probably be little comfort to their loved ones, and will likely be further sanctions.

Entirely depends on why the software is being updated. if a critical hacking flaw has been found it could take a while to fix.

For example, the US hacked all the Iranian air defences and disabled them a couple of years back when they were going to go in and take out some nuke generators, before Trump ordered a U-turn on the planes ( one of the biggest military blunders the US has made in a while showing there cards like that without following through ).

if a flaw has been discovered recently in what Germany have it could be why it takes so long to fix as russia does have some pretty good hackers.

No it's a fix to fire UK and US spec rockets.

They won't. They have world support for maintaining the high ground by adhering to international law, they will not jeopardise that standing

More Russian polemic. Rather looking forward to the time when China flexes its muscles, rescinds past agreements, and declares it's time to bring Outer Manchuria back into the fold.

Probably somehow linked to the same reason most of the west is arming and helping Ukraine financially….
