Slava Ukraini.
They added that with “shelling around the station and the city, smoke from fires, dust from the ash dump of a thermal power plant”, that the “situation sometimes looks like the end of the world” at the plant."Yesterday there was no electricity, no water, nothing. But everything is already ok, the men [operational staff] at the NPP [Nuclear Power Plant] are just smarties and heroes.
It’s not 100k ‘Russians’ though, it’s 97.5k minorities from ‘backwaters’ and 2.5k euro Russians. If the body bags had been coming back to the ‘elite’ euro Russians in the numbers that the rest of the country has suffered, I’m sure they’d be more prominent and public rhetoric against the war.
Speaking of the 117k though… I’m not sure what they are going to arm them with, that’s a 10+% increase , for an army suffering serious losses of high tech and modern material.
What a load of tosh.Boris sacrificed around 180,000 in the Great Covid War and hardly cares one jot
Always vaccination, never mention the casualties
This is the best explanation I have found for this.
Hughes is not just concerned with populist demagogues in democracies. He looks at historical examples of autocrats too. His basic theory is that politics is getting increasingly colonised by leaders who exhibit narcissistic, psychopathic and paranoid tendencies to a greater or lesser degree. Putin sleeps at night because he is likely to be a combination of all three.
This is a 15 minute video of Hughes explaining the thesis of his book.
As for how tyrannical leaders manipulate their own citizenry so that they end up being wiling executioners/turkeys voting for Christmas, this old documentary explains the process:
It basically consists of dehumanizing an out-group to the point where you are perfectly willing to commit atrocities against them. Ukrainians = Nazis/Terrorists does the job in Russia.
What is disturbing about the documentary is that it demonstrates how we all might be susceptible, even if we think we are immune. Step 5 is rather chilling in this case as it shows how people were turned against each other in the former Yugoslavia, even those who had been former classmates and teachers.
Like I said in the beginning along with @Prestwich_Blue, anyone can be Billy big bollocks but it can only be resolved with diplomacy.I had an old girlfriend from Yugoslavia..I visited it many times when still under communist rule..Now Montenegro..A stunning country..Yugoslavia literally means the South Slavs. Kotor is a stunning pace to visit. You may know that Tito was in charge for a while. His real name was Broz. He was called Tito because in Serbian Ti To means you do this, you do that.
My parents are from Belarus but it was part of Poland at the time. Sent to Siberia by the communists as landowners. If anyone is interested look up Kresy Siberia. I speak to them about their experiences which were harsh. They were allowed to leave Siberia as deemed Poles and males joined the 6th army at Monte Cassino.
When I read this forum I kind of despair. Many people dying on both sides. In truth I hate politicians. Normal people caught up in stupid wars when diplomacy should prevail.
Indeed, the politicians cause these wars and it is the people in the countries who suffer. An absolute disgrace.Historically Russia was in three parts, Russia, Little Russia(Ukraine), and White Russia(Belarus..that translates as White Russia). Brothers. Indeed Ukraine had more animosity to Poland for many years as they were regarded as serfs by the Polish Lithuanian empire. Some of you old buggers may remember the film Taras Bulba ?? It was always on TV as a child..I just can not see how a neutral corridor from Finland to the Black Sea would not solve this mess.Heavens, Covid, now this war, inflation, what a mess.Like I said in the beginning along with @Prestwich_Blue, anyone can be Billy big bollocks but it can only be resolved with diplomacy.
The problem with diplomacy is that it requires trust at the very heart if its discussions and ultimate agreements.Like I said in the beginning along with @Prestwich_Blue, anyone can be Billy big bollocks but it can only be resolved with diplomacy.
