Serious question, what is it with Russians and washing machines, can't they get them there or something?

These troops are from the sticks. Places where there is often no running water, no sewage, no electricity etc. Outside the cities, Russian life is 18th century. Consumer goods rare. Just a backward kleptocracy where a few are super rich but many live in poverty.

You don't need a washing machine if you don't have running water. They are for sale and the price of 2nd hand white goods will drop to bottom in the Russian cities.

There was a video on this thread, of a re-captured barn like area where Russians had lived for awhile.
There were many many kettles… all with very singed and broken bottoms… they’d boiled/burnt the electric kettles over a fire…
