Russian invasion of Ukraine

At the moment, he said, Russia was building up its forces to an "enormous extent", producing approximately 1,500 main battle tanks every year.

First official comment by the SBU on todays drone attacks on Russian military airfields: “7 billion US dollars. This is the estimated cost of the enemy's strategic aviation, which was hit today as a result of the SBU special operation "Spiderweb". 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers at the main airfields of the Russian Federation were hit.We will tell you about the details of the special operation of the Security Service a little later. And for now, we can only say one thing to the Russians:"Did you think that Ukraine was so simple? Ukraine is great. Ukraine is exclusive. It has passed all the roller coasters of history. It has undergone all kinds of tests. It is tempered with the highest tempering. In the conditions of the modern world, it has no price." (c) Lina KostenkoWe are doing everything to expel the enemy from our native land! We will beat him at sea, in the air and on land. And if necessary, we will get him out of the ground. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!

Yes TU95 are no longer in production and its why they house them so far away to try keep them safe after a few got hit by Drones in the past and the more recent relaxation of long range attack restrictions by the West.

If reports of 40+ hits are true that could be almost their entire TU95 fleet destroyed as they apparently only had around 45-50 remaining in service (probably not every hit was a TU95, reports at least one AEWC was hit which in itself is huge and other aircraft are at these bases). Im not sure if they have more unmaintained frames on top of these numbers that could be serviced but likely not many.

Im not even sure if Russia even produces any alternative strategic bombers anymore, the Tu160 is the "newest" one but is also a soviet aircraft and they have only 20 in service apparently, probably a very slow production on these. They apparently only have another 20 serviced Tu22 which are deathtraps. This would mean if 40+ hits are confirmed around 50% of Russias entire serviced bomber fleet could have just been destroyed. They can replace some of these with unmaintained frames assuming they have the ability to service them.

These bombers are what the majority of cruise missiles are launched from, each TU95 could fire 8 missiles, every launch vehicle reduction is a huge win for Ukraine and effectively irreplaceable for Russia.

Zelenskiy:

Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk delivered a report regarding today’s operation. An absolutely brilliant result. A result achieved solely by Ukraine. One year, six months, and nine days from the start of planning to effective execution. Our most long-range operation. Our people involved in preparing the operation were withdrawn from Russian territory in time. I thanked General Maliuk for this success of Ukraine. I instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to inform the public about the details and results of the operation that can be disclosed. Of course, not everything can be revealed at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in history books. Ukraine is defending itself, and rightly so – we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!

One of the vids shows the tu-95 (left photo) getting hit in that exact spot of the Red Cross, and the wing detaching from fuselage.

Has anyone seen all the vids released and confirmed the total number of planes hit?
