This is why the sanctions against Russia shouldn’t stop when the shooting ends. In fact they should be intensified. Every penny transferred from Europe to Russia will be deployed to fund future aggression against this continent. It’s insanity on behalf of Europe to facilitate that, knowing what they know about Russia.Considering there will be a meeting between Selenzky, Trump and Putin: It's a good moment for negotiations. Russia's summer offensive has failed terribly and the economy is under big stress. The big European countries stay more or less stabile and will finally build up their military potential. It could be that there isn't much pressure needed to reach a ceasefire.
The question is, what happens in the aftermath because the moment the shooting ends, Russia's military is rebuilding rapidly which grows the possibility of a big European war in the next few years. It could also be the case that Putin will continue the war against Ukraine after some months of rebuilding while Ukraine probably had to disband big parts of their military in the meantime and is in the middle of a constitutional crisis with upcoming potential chaotic or unfree elections and shrinking military supplies by its allies.
I hope everybody in Europes seats knows that the real race will start the moment the ceasefire is effective. If it hadn't started already.
