Nope just meat grinding. During WW1 the allies and central powers developed tactics that reduced the bloodsheed on their own side and maximised those of the opposition..
e.g. Creeping barrages for the allies and German Storm trooper units.
The Russians just whip the meat forward to almost certain death.
