It will take until the spring to get people trained to use them.
I would guess we have already trained them, I think we are on our 3rd batch of 10k troops.

I doubt we're training tank specialists for tanks that haven't been approved yet.
The 10,000 troops we're training is "Based on the UK’s basic soldier training, the course covers weapons handling, battlefield first aid, fieldcraft, patrol tactics and the Law of Armed Conflict.”
I think training happens well before the pieces of kit are announced.Maybe. Feels a bit remiss to not train some of them in stuff that may come along in the future so there are people who know how to use them there.
Worst case we waste some time and money. Best case we speed things up.
We have certainly been training officer levels as well as any basic training.
Yep, watched a number of his videos on geopolitics. They are quite good as general overview of what most experts are predicting. Was listening to Peter Ziehan on YouTube he paints quite a rough picture for Russia n China over the next few years and tbh things don’t look great for any of us.
Anyone familiar with this chap?
I think all politicians are looking for as many compromise options as possible. Who knows what undercover deals France and Germany have done with Putin, we only have to look at Trump and Putin to see how unscrupulous and gullible Heads of Gov can be."Free the Leopards" slogan.
What’s Germany’s problem (and France) on supplying arms to Ukraine?
The Ukrainians are fighting a war on behalf of the US and NATO to weaken Russia (not invade it) and reduce the capability of its plan to integrate countries back into into the former bloc.
Without support, Ukraine would have fallen very early on, a puppet administration installed and then it would have just been a matter of time before Putin pressured the next country.
Personally I think Germany and France are very focused on the after war landscape and looking to best place themselves to take advantage of it.
Every NATO member doesI cant find it again now but I read an article this morning, stating that the company that makes the Leopards are saying if they started today, tanks wont be ready to ship till early 2024.
You would think that Germany has at least some up and running to ship tho.
