Rot.If my memory is correct trumps presidency ended January 2021. The illegal invasion of Ukraine happened more than a year later. Under someone else's watch. Nothing to do with him. This will be sorted by focussing on the here and now not bellyaching about things long gone.
When Trump was cosying up to Putin, there were already sanctions in place and NATO countries were training Ukraine forces. Trump is a traitor.The conflict started in 2014 really.
The US defence staff found him completely ignorant of world affairs. Trump genuinely asked:”Why are we in NATO?”
His defence staff tried to explain stuff to him and declared him none too bright when he failed to understand.

I am siding with no one. Totally neutral. I don't agree Russia should of invaded any county, but I also don't think NATO flirting with Ukraine was very wise. There is no good outcome from this. But to say Trump would of made this worse is embarrassing. My conspiracy mind has questions about money laundering and hunter bidens involvement in Ukraine. Maybe that's just me, but that's only my opinion, I have to question things like that.
The only thing that could end this with the least devastation is that someone close to Putin takes him out, and who ever takes over can come to the negotiation table. And NATO back down, and stop poking the bear.
If you read back what you are saying here - you are stating that an independent nation cannot decide for itself who it aligns with…. If Ukraine wants to join NATO or the EU it can ask for membership - it doesn’t need Putin’s permission. If Hungary decides it wants to leave the EU and get back into bed with Russia -it can… and it doesn’t need anyone’s permission. Did Sweden or Finland need Putin’s permission to join NATO? Putin is a flat track bully and he was hellbent on a land grab in Ukraine and he figured he’d get away with it safe for a few sanctions etc… just like when he did similar with parts of Georgia or Crimea… well he miscalculated this time…. As Biden has repeatedly said… Russia caused this war - they invaded an independent nation… they can stop this war immediately by going home.
