Russian invasion of Ukraine

I would think before Poland, the Baltic states would be seen as Putins easy/easier route create a land bridge to protect those poor under threat folk in Kaliningrad that are cut off from Mother Russia.
The perhaps he will want Kazakhstan back to maintain his space launch capability.
The Polish armed forces will be by far the 2nd biggest in NATO very soon with 4% of GDP now going into defence. Over a 1000 tanks (Abrams ond K2), 980 long range 155m artilary pieces and enough MLRS for 1 to cover each km of Poland's borders with Kailingrad and Belarus.
Ouch.

Of course, the longer this war goes on, the more both the West and Russia are drained of resources.

China is over the moon with this war lasting so long and will be eager to fill the void of the strongest superpower.

And, of course China will find a way to supply Russia with what aid they can get away with. But they won't do this wholesale, but around the margins, preserving, *wink wink* some degree of deniability..

That way they can trade with the west without blame avoiding sanctions, all the while gaining something that they really want from Russia in return.

Now's as good as time as any for the West to try to plan for what happens when sanctions are going to be put on China

But realistically right now the West simply can't wean themselves off of the huge amount of trade the do with China fast enough or completely enough to have much of an effect.
Not so sure about that. NATO increasing ammo production as dramatically as it currently is doing is really bad news for China's plans for world domination.

This is what should be doing after years of degrading our armed forces.

Talk of Whizz Air cancelling flights into Moldova due to Russia potentially landing troops at Chisinau airport to start a coup. Think the only option the Kremlin has is to cause chaos in Europe as they ain’t winning in Ukraine.

Suspending flights from 14th March. Saying due to Russian missiles flying through their airspace.

I’m not sure why Moldova hasn’t asked for military support by now, best bet would be to ask Ukraine for assistance as they have offered.

Will also be interesting to see how exactly Russia plans on landing planes there when they would have to fly through Ukrainian or NATO airspace to get there.
