Russian invasion of Ukraine

For anyone in London, there is a small gallery in the imperial war museum (Lambeth north tube), dedicated to photos from the 2014-2023 Ukrainian conflict/war.
It is small, but moving. Notices are in English and Ukrainian.

This 1st pic is of Yevhen Shulga in 2014 at the Kiev protests

The 2nd is 8 years later by the same photographer, fighting somewhere

Yeah, I think this is where algorithms drive misinformation.

Rather than going for high quality, trusted sources we end up with random weirdos whose controversial content generates clicks, then the algorithm promotes the most clicked, and it's self perpetuating.

My advice FWIW is never to follow "the next one" but decide what a reputable source is, then use those for preference.

If you've not heard of the source, check how reputable they are before putting any time into listening to them. A quick google immediately shows this character is absolutely not worth wasting your time on.
from google , Douglas Abbott Macgregor is a retired U.S. Army colonel and government official, and an author, consultant, and television commentator.

this guy isn't a random , hes an ex colonel of the united states of america ,and if anything you would think he would be siding with ukraine ,that's why i was a bit worried with what he was saying

That is what you get with a delusional autocrat in power. This will be the result of pressure to get supplies to the front lines and to not want to engage in any serious discussion about the problems and challenges on the ground. This will be chalked up as a tank by the factory and probably 3 tanks by the time it gets to Putins desk.

Also why Putin seems to be pushing ahead with a war he can't win and with no end in sight.

The idea that there are no ex forces wingnuts in the US (or elsewhere) is obviously wrong.

In the bad old days these folk would have been quietly ignored. Now the algorithms put them top of your list purely because they've generated clicks - by being obvious wingnuts.

It's incredible isn't it, that they are using 60yr old armoured vehicles.
