And also confirmed on the ground
Play the long game with this lot and the country will collapse. Wasn’t some oligarch predicting that Russia will run out of money by 2024? Can’t fund a war if you haven’t got a pot to piss in, if you can’t pay your population their wages that’s another problem to deal with as well.
The West's military will come out of this much stronger. NATO is expanding and country's are spending more on defence and arms than before the invasionIt depends how many actively want the long game - it’s doing wonders for Gas and Oil companys and food producers that are profiting, arms manufacturers and perhaps the likes of China who are watching the West and Russia weaken their military powers the longer this goes on. Obviously hoping I’m completely wrong on this.
What would you rather a rusty old wheelbarrow full of worthless bank notes. Or no bank notes at all. Or do you take the Wheelbarrow as that has most value. All this did was result in people literally paying for loafs of bread with wheel barrows full of cash!
Calling @petrusha to the threadWhat would you rather a rusty old wheelbarrow full of worthless bank notes. Or no bank notes at all. Or do you take the Wheelbarrow as that has most value.
Its hard to know what is going on in Russia. But not paying government salaries is not sustainable. For a start he has to pay the military and police to maintain basic security. Right? And he has to pay the cronies at the top. Does he stop paying everyone else in order to pay china/north korea/iran for ammo? Would that not tank the rest of the economy that is already on deaths door?
2015 or thereaboutsThere must surely come a time when the mass population think Putin needs getting rid of.
When I went to St Petersburg (twice) the locals wanted payment in dollars, did not want their own currency at all.Putin’s mob want to keep the value of the rouble up as a signal that their economy is strong. They use several wheezes to achieve this.
