Russian invasion of Ukraine

I remember Mr Abromovic and his former mentor Oligarch having a legal battle.
They both at the time lived in I think Monte Carlo but chose UK ie London to judge their case.
The outcome was Mr A. won but only because he effectively told less lies.

Predictably the opponent of Mr A died suspiciously a short time after said Court Case.
Tbf, the judge praised Abramovich for his honest testimony.

I’m curious as to why he’s doing it. He knows that putin won’t like any criticism and he’s in danger. Is he looking for a way out/ leniency at any war crimes trial?

He wants to succeed Putin and so desperately needs to finally ‘win’ Bakhmut - for the past 12 months he has been telling the world his guys would take Bahkmut and finally doing that while the actual Russian army gets pushed back would be political gold dust.

The actions around Bakhmut puts Russia in a dilemma, not reinforcing Bakhmut could lead to an embarrising defeat after so much effort to try to take it, however pulling forces from other area's to reinforce Bakhmut just leaves more opportunity's for the Ukranian counter offensive.
