Russian invasion of Ukraine

I seriously don't think they have. As there is no logical reason not to destroy it. They are going after supply routes everywhere else are they not?

Perhaps the bridge is much better protected than the harbour?

Perhaps they don't have the ordnance to destroy the bridge, the ship was loaded with ordnance which destroyed it when detonated.
I do think they have the capability to take the bridge out as and when, but tactically not choosing to do so right now. I suspect the reason being is that Ukraine are not as brutal as Rusia and want to give safe passage for Russian civilians escaping Crimea.

They will blow it when it best suits imo

I cant answer why the bridge has not been dropped and i agree,it should of been.
Ukraines own HRIM-2 Missile has a range of 500km with a 500kg payload.

Perhaps you have answered your own question in the sense the bridge is heavily protected with Russian air defence. Ukraine may think, you have a few extra systems on the bridge as you're paranoid we want to bring it down and we'll hit what we think are more beneficial military targets which are less protected. Meaning more likely to have success. It's a numbers game.
So they don't quite have the capability or capacity then.

Well I understand your answer , but don't necessarily agree with it.

There's no point in blowing up the bridge unless Ukraine are in a position to go on the offensive is there?

My hunch is the ship was chosen as a target because it demonstrates what Ukraine can do and could do if given more powerful weaponry.
The bridge is an important supply route for the Russian war machine. Its a very obvious target surely?

The Russians will repair the bridge or use alternative methods and resupply Crimea.

If you take out the bridge you need to take Crimea soon afterwards. They don't have the capability to do that.

Maybe keeping the bridge standing helps Ukraine monitor the supply of weapons and where they are going...and then hit them.
Or maybe.....if the Russians have no way to retreat and are cornered in Crimea,it may force the Russians into a desperate act?
