Russian invasion of Ukraine

If,and i say "IF" that wreckage is from that Aircraft.
Take a close look at all the small holes that is in what is left of it.
From exterior to interior, not interior to exterior.....SHOT DOWN....IMO.
By who?....i have no idea......but looks like "BUK Missile" damage.

Slava Ukraini.
I think the statement posted by @CTID1977 above, suggests Ukraine know they shot it down, hence the bit....

Landing a transport aircraft in a 30-kilometer war zone cannot be safe and must be discussed by both sides in any case, because otherwise it puts the entire exchange process at risk.

Based on this, we may be talking about planned and deliberate actions of the Russian Federation with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and weakening international support for our state.
As I said earlier, we'll probably never know the truth.

So, what do we know about the Il-76 crash as of 18:30?The plane crashed in the Belgorod region around 11:00.The first message that appeared in the Russian media space was that the plane was shot down by Russian air defenses. Then, the emphasis abruptly changed to the shooting down by Ukrainian air defense forces, with the assertion that there were Ukrainian prisoners of war on board, who were about to be swapped. The first images that emerged from the crash site never showed a large number of bodies. Remember the MH-17 disaster? The entire field was strewn with the debris and body parts. Or recall Yevgeny Prigozhin’s business jet, much smaller in size and with fewer passengers on board – the first footage from the crash site already contained passengers’ remains. It is also obvious that the plane was not about to land, but rather took off from Belgorod. How can you bring POWs for exchange to Belgorod if you are departing? Then propaganda talking head Margarita Simonyan appeared with an alleged list of Ukrainian POWs bound for swap, which included Ukrainian military personnel who had already been exchanged on January 3.It is also worth noting that that OSINT analysts confirmed the fact that the Il-76 aircraft, RA-78830, was flying to Russia via Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, then disappeared from radar somewhere near Syria, and then popped back up over Belgorod region. A very strange route for delivering captured Ukrainians. It is also known that this particular plane played an active part in the “Iranian Express” supply chain.A question also arose regarding the Russian Ministry of Defense’s statement that only three convoy guards accompanied 65 POWs on board. This is a critically low number for such a group, which would totally violate regulations.Five hours into the crash, a new crash site video surfaced, showing a piece of the fuselage with a large number of minor damages, which confirms the downing by a surface-to-air missile. But, again, even then, no bodies of the supposedly killed Ukrainian prisoners of war were shown. In view of all of this, Russia’s version claiming that Ukrainian POWs were on board the Il-76 is crumbling like a sand castle. But the real danger lies elsewhere.Moscow officially stated that prisoners of war were on board. As of 18:30, not a single material evidence of this has been presented, although it is very important for Russian propaganda to show that their position is the only right one. Against this background, fears arise that Russian terrorists may be now preparing this “material evidence”...

Disgraceful what is going on in the states.

The US cannot help Ukraine with the repair of the provided weapons without funding, the Pentagon said

The US Department of Defense said that the lack of funding not only affects the country's ability to send weapons to Ukraine, but also to help repair what has already been provided.

The spokesman for the US Department of Defense, Patrick Ryder, noted that due to a lack of funding, the Pentagon cannot remove weapons from its own stockpiles, which prevents it from "meeting Ukraine's most urgent needs on the battlefield, including such things as artillery shells, anti-tank weapons, air defense missiles."

"Furthermore, without additional funding, we cannot provide systems and equipment to meet medium- and long-term needs and help them maintain the systems we have already provided," Ryder emphasized.
