Europe simply needs to step up because we plainly can’t rely upon the States anymore. It will make us all poorer in the sort term but safer and better off in the long term. Russia simply cannot prevail under any circumstances.

You’re a better man than me if you understand why the US are being so selective, I don’t understand how a NATO country member can ignore war in Europe in favour of Israel.

I could be oversimplifying this and possibly wrong out right. My understanding tho is the Christian evangelical lot in the US ( that are a big part of the MAGA lot ) believe that the 2nd coming of Christ will come out of Israel so will always support Israel no matter what.

Then the GOP are in full swing negative campaigning against Biden so are trying to block anything that could be seen as a win for Biden. They want him to keep failing before the election.

I think there are moves being made by the real GOP and the speaker to form bipartisan cooperation on things in a hope to marginalise the MAGA lot.

The US is descending into insanity and I personally cannot see it ending whatever the outcome in November. This is the reality that we need to accept and deal with, I’m afraid.
