tbf I think the article said Ukraine was losing rather than Russia winning, which has to be correct in broad terms because they have lost so much, but I agree the apparent sentiment behind the narrative is incredibly one dimensional and simplistic given the cost/benefit ratio for Russia.That theory is laughable when seen in this context, and what this map doesn't tell us is how much equipment and personell they have lost taking so little.
That "gain" of territory is seen by news outlets like the bbc as russia "winning", which is a ridiculous take on things really.
They have lost so much from this conflict, and should absolutely continue to.
