Russian invasion of Ukraine

The only possible attacks in Russia would be black ops against the railways in the south west of Russia to further disrupt Russian logistical re-supplies. No way they would start firing indiscriminately into Russia.
I am not saying go in and randomly attack Russian civilians. As you alluded to, strategic bombing financial establishments and cripple their transport system. Make life difficult and do not let the Russian people hide behind putin.

Rise up Russians and take back your country.

What do you think could have caused it? Serious question. Ie what are the different reasons you think.
I was watching a Politic show in Germany and a Politician told that the USA were lobbying Ukraine to join NATO and EU in 2008. France and Germany blocked the Approval due to fear of war

Useful as a show of commitment/defiance to both the enemy and his people, but I imagine that piece of paper and the signatory will be reduced to ashes at some point this week. Worth noting it was an application to join the EU rather than NATO which really would put the cat among the pigeons

They applied to join NATO in 2008, and it is still ongoing.

EU application is a symbolic move as you say. And an admirable one. But ultimately meaningless otherwise.

Dead hard you, aren't ya! I did say potentially, and it's in reference to nuclear escalation.

Have a read of this. It's unlikely but not impossible and not unreasonable for people to be concerned.

It's the first time in my life where when I go to bed at night, the thought at least passes through my mind that - however unlikely it may be - I might wake up to find that there's been various nuclear strikes. Or even, worst case, that I might not even wake up at all.

Anyone who is not remotely concerned about this, has not been paying attention.

Is the man of the house available to help you love?

It's also a bargaining chip which can be thrown in at the negotiating table.

Hmmmmm. Maybe.

And maybe we should have given those guarantees, in return for a legal guarantee that Russia would never invade Ukraine (and therefore mean NATO membership was not needed).

Of course he could in future break his word and invade anyway... in which case we'd be where we are now, i.e. no worse off. But this war would have been avoided.
Yeah and yeah, but that’s the risk you take for (at least prolonged) peace.
