Russian invasion of Ukraine

Still India was never a part of British Empire. That was my point. are you trying to justify what British did?
India very much was part of the British Empire and I’ve not remotely tried to justify anything, nor do I feel the need to, I played no part in it.

My unpopular opinion:

-Russia has withheld the strongest of its military might on the chance that NATO/US/EU/Somebody joins in on Ukraine's side and needs to be dealt with
-Russia has not invaded full scale regardless of what the press keeps telling me
-Nobody is serious about dealing with Putin/Russia so long as they keep buying Russian fuel
-As fuel prices soar, Putin/Russia literally grow richer as a result of this incursion
-Sanctions will do SFA other than strengthen Sino-Russian cooperation
-A serious attempt to militarily defend Ukraine by any other state would necessarily involve defence/counterattacks/attacks on the Russian military and therefore: is an invitation for Russia to attack the country who attacks their forces.
-fucking nobody is going to do that
-therefore: negotiated surrender and acceding to Russian terms is the only outcome.

I don't like it. But I can't see it another way. Saving the Ukrainian people's lives is my most favored outcome at this point and I can't see this go any "better" way for them.
Oh Jesus Christ.

“As fuel prices soar, Putin/Russia literally grow richer as a result of this incursion

I mean, really? Read a book or watch a bit of the news. Total, BP, Shell have all just walked out, there will be no fucker there with the expertise to extract a wisdom tooth within a month let alone a billion barrels a year.

it'll end with a brutal sniper style guerrilla warfare from apartment blocks for weeks/months on end till a ceasefire, at which point the Russians will only retreat back to Donetsk.

You can see what Russia have gone in for, they'll end up with the valuable brown bits on the right. The west may keep the rest of Ukraine but have to trade with the Russians for all the valuable bits. Damages the west.

Always thought it was a land grab under the disguise of a political war.

Especially judging from the lack of attacks from western Belarus, you could easily argue that.I’d say the original optimistic objective was up to the dnieper river (iirc the waterway). Gives a sense of a barrier and neatly cleaves the nation in half…ready for another stage of the grand sxheme

Sorry for highlighting your lack of intellectual ability, I’ll stick to the football section of this forum. Off topic clearly isn’t the place for me.
All the points have been made. Putin's playbook has been published and his post victory statement was accidently released which clearly backed up the playbook. None of the facts on the ground point to any reason for the aggression other than Putin's megalomania, narcissism and dreams of a Greater Russia. Anyone with a brain knows that the NATO expansion excuse is utter bollocks for the feeble minded, and further discussion with anyone who really thinks the west should have made Ukraine surrender at the first sight of a Russian tank on the other side of the border is fucking pointless. So if you want to fuck off to the football section don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Better still piss off to RAWK, you'll feel at home amongst a larger group that are totally out of touch with reality.

Well your quote on "with just 30000 people" sounded like you were trying to justify what the British did back then. Again I never blamed anyone here. I just said that India was not a part of British empire until they went there and looted and plundered everything.

Obviously take it with a pinch of salt but it explains how Russian troops are struggling to even communicate with each other on the ground. The Russians are completely uncoordinated, Ukrainian civilians constantly messing with their communications.

yup taken with a pinch of salt. Shadowbreak, run by some Belgian guy out of London (Flat 13 Fieldgate) with an operating budget of £7k. The guys previous adventure was getting arrested for a massive botnet strike on Belgium.

I am guessing he wants to sell his services using the Ukraine war.

Also I have seen a lot of posters blaming India for abstaining. I blame India too but I also understand why they did it now. India's strategic relationship with Russia is vital considering the West literally screwed them over in the 70s.
The past is littered with wrongdoings on a grand scale from many countries. Whilst we keep looking back we are failing to move forward.
The blame game never seems to solve any problems, only inflame them.
I’m not confident of anything changing in the near future and see only more threats and aggression all over the globe in years to come.

Wish it was still the 90’s. Think it’s the only decade I wasn’t worried about a fucking thing. Even City being shite didn’t bother me!

Ukraine will never trust Russia again,
Large parts of western Ukraine have never trusted the russians.

If you look back at the Katyn Forest massacres in early WW2, most people believe it was just Stalin wiping out the Polish officer class.
It wasn't, large numbers of the Ukrainian intelligentsia were also mass murdered.

It started with the East India Company before Britain existed.
