Russian invasion of Ukraine

Yeah, look at the west, afraid of WW3 and a nuclear exchange. How pathetic of countries not to rush to start one.

Wouldn't help Ukraine any, btw.
It’s staggering how many people seem to be oblivious or advocating risking that if we go NATO v Russia then we more than likely end up going nuclear and it’s game over for most of us, including the Ukrainians.

It’s shit for Ukraine, but in my opinion risking wiping out the human race and most animals that rely on vegetation isn’t a price worth risking to attempt to put it right. People are advocating risking the lives of ~8 Billion people to save Ukraine. Ukraine will fight and make life / occupation hell for Russia, and they will inevitably withdraw. We can support Ukraine in this effort.

Right. I’m going to carry on watching ‘the day after’. The start of that (radio/tv commentary on the Russia / NATO escalations) are worryingly similar.

School children being arrested for anti war protests.
Their crime laying flowers outside the Ukraine Embassy

Of course this is right but what worries me is that Putin could just decide to go this route anyway regardless of NATO involvement. It’s a race among his optionality, his lifespan and eventual inevitable internal Russian discontent/anger/fear which could shorten or eliminate either. Hence sanctions and supporting Ukraine from outside are the only realistic options the West has until he pushes the button. It’s absolute shit but it’s all we have.

Putin is the dangerous wildcard for sure, but no point making it easier for him to justify.

Get real....

You get real.

War in the Middle East is old news, it happens all the time and gets plenty of coverage, quite rightly.

A full scale war in a European Democracy doesn’t often happen and has far more direct implications to the West.

You could get that compilation from the Middle East and see how they report on their more local conflicts.

It’s part of this self hating white guilt nonsense.

It is mad that people do not realise what putting boots on the ground or a no fly zone would mean to the human race.
