Russian invasion of Ukraine

How does everybody see the next six months (Winter period) panning out.

I assume things will naturally move less quick in some harsher conditions and stalemates can kick in but surely it will suit the invaders less with their poor equipment and low morale?

Can anybody envisage the West being able to ramp things up a little bit to continually give the Russians an arse kicking on the floor, or is it going to be a long painful progress for everybody (both directly and indirectly involved). Surely the higher tech stuff the yanks can train them on, the more and more Russia are going to get defeated in conventional warfare.
think Russia will be pushed back into Crimea within the next week and that will be it until the spring with some tit for tat shelling going on,it may even stay like that for longer

Im guessing this near miss is why we now send 2 fighter jets to shadow our spy planes.
I don't think it was a "near miss" to be fair, and I expect they had/have an escort anyway, just that they don't show up on radar apps.

The more worrying thing is a lot of civilian air traffic goes over the south Black Sea.
Most civilian aircraft are staying well south over the Black Sea, the only ones operating in russian airspace are either russia, or heading to russian airports, and even they are staying well south and east of the combat zone.

Not sure if we have any russian speakers on here but if this is a correct English translation but if so, this is comedy gold - they've even become shit at bullshitting

The report i read said that although in the same airspace, neither plane was in visual range.
And it was a "release" of a missle, not aimed or targeted at our aircraft.

Probably going through menu's preparing it and pressed "enter" whilst looking for the "any key"...

Still dangerous, as any release could be.

Perhaps pilot was looking for the cigarette lighter

I appreciate that but the fact remains if r on r can happen and apparently be acceptable surely r on b is just as possible and what's more be seen by both sides as sometimes accidental?
There are (usually) systems in place to stop Blue on Blue, generally some type of transponder fitted to coalition assets, and the other side will have similar.

They use something called IFF (Identification Friend or Foe). One of my jobs in the first gulf war, was setting up firstly mechanical (boxes with the top half alphabet and bottom numbers connected with cables) then digital using a device which was setup using murray code tape which were given out daily to our helicopters…

Maybe longer than that,IMO.
Mud is slowing things down in certain areas, moving heavy equipment etc.
And,if,the dam gets blown,it will flood most of the East side for a few days.
Can't see the Orcs blowing the dam though,as it would fuck the water supply to Crimea,i think......hopefully Ukraine block the canal anyway.

Slava Ukraini.

Can see Ukraine settling for a regroup for 3 or 4 months - NATO will re equip them more quickly than Russia can replenish its losses. Ukraine will probably continue the precision targeting of Russian strategic positions and Russia will retaliate with drones aimed at civilian targets. A long cold winter could possible finish what’s left of Russian morale.
