Russian invasion of Ukraine

Putin won’t abide by any treaty and will use any newly acquired territory to launch a new invasion. If he has the resources, that is , which is doubtful.
He’ll abide by any treaty as long as it’s expedient to do so.

Why would any sane person want to negotiate with him? It’s ultimately pointless.

Why the fuck should they have to give up any of their land to a tyrant?
Wars are expensive both in terms of cash and lives , conceding some land may ultimately be the best option, as long as it comes with some form of future protection such as nato membership

Both soldiers got life imprisonment.

A Russian court has sentenced two Russian soldiers to life in prison for killing a family of nine in occupied Ukraine, in a rare example of the country holding its troops to account for alleged war crimes.

The entire Kapkanets family were killed in their home in the Donetsk region last year by Anton Sopov, 21, and Stanislav Rau, 28, prosecutors said. Among the victims were two children aged five and nine.

Alvin, what do you think the chances are of China invading Taiwan in the next few years?
In 5 years, I give it a 65%.
In 10 years, 90%.
If nothing happen, then probably a direct US-China war in 2030s or 2040s.
(there is no such a country named taiwan ,it is ROC's taiwan province or PRC's taiwan provice depend on which side you stand with. It's a civil war.)

And do you think it will be worth invading with 100s of thousands likely killed as a result? Probably best for both sides to leave it as it is?
