Russian invasion of Ukraine

Update on my post from 7 days ago about the ammunition explosion

Aftermath

Ever wonder how effective Ukraine’s aid really is? One homemade drone just wiped out more Russian shells than the US and EU produce together in a year.

On 22 April, Ukraine’s $1 million Palianytsia drone flew 700 km (435 miles) to torch Russia’s 51st Arsenal — igniting 264,000 tons of ammunition in a blast NASA satellites caught from space. Even 70 km from Moscow, Russia’s air defenses failed to stop it.

This wasn’t just a strike — it shattered Russia’s entire summer offensive. With previous arsenal hits already halving Russia’s firepower, blowing up their biggest stockpile now forces Moscow into a brutal choice: delay assaults or attack without artillery cover — either way, a disaster in the making.

And beyond battlefield headlines? The real victory is human. Artillery causes 70% of Ukraine’s casualties. At roughly one casualty per 100 shells, destroying 6 million could spare 60,000 lives — soldiers and civilians alike.

Well worth a like

You fucking leg end ;)

"I think I saved Ukraine. I think that country would have collapsed soon. Russia is a massive military machine—that’s the reality. And if it weren’t for me… I was the one who supplied Ukraine with Javelins that destroyed Russian tanks.

Remember that historic moment when the tanks got stuck in the mud? That’s when we gave them a huge number of Javelins—anti-tank weapons—and that’s when those tanks were destroyed while they were stuck in the mud.

That was a decisive episode. If those tanks had reached Kyiv—and they were only 71 miles away—they would have taken the city. The war would have ended in one day.

So, on one hand, that factor was also the reason the war continued. But at the same time, I can say it’s unfortunate that the war dragged on like this because so many people died—far more than is officially reported. Not just soldiers, but countless civilians too.

I firmly believe I did a great service to Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Norway—a very reliable and respected man—told me: ‘If Trump hadn’t intervened, this war wouldn’t have ended.’ I think I’m really doing something important for that country." - Donald Trump

In Kharkiv, as a result of two waves of strikes, more than 45 people were injured, including two children. The youngest victim is just 5 years old. All those affected are receiving medical assistance.

Rescue operations are ongoing at the scene. Residential areas were hit, with damage to apartment buildings, a hospital, and a school – a total of 13 civilian sites in the city.In Dnipro, tragically, one person was killed. My condolences to the family. Another person was injured. The strike also targeted civilian infrastructure. In Dobropillya, the strike targeted a mine building and damaged ordinary buses and cars. One person was injured.Russian drones continue flying in the skies over Ukraine all morning. And so it goes every day.

That is why pressure on Russia is needed – strong additional sanctions that will actually work. It must be pressure, not just words or attempts at persuasion, that forces Russia to cease fire and end the war. Pressure from the United States, from Europe, from everyone in the world who believes there is no place for war on this planet. To protect our people, we need additional air defense systems that will make Russia’s aerial terror impossible.

I thank everyone who supports Ukraine and Ukrainians at this time, everyone who is preparing new sanctions against Russia for prolonging the war and defense packages for Ukraine to protect lives

US and Ukraine sign minerals deal

An update to bring you now on the minerals deal between the US and Ukraine which we told you was expected to be signed today.

We've just heard from the US Treasury, which has confirmed than an agreement has been signed with Ukraine.

While specific details still remain unclear, it said the agreement establishes a US-Ukraine reconstruction investment fund.

The Treasury said the agreement signals to Russia that the Trump administration is committed to a peace process centred on a free, sovereign and prosperous Ukraine.

It's a long-awaited agreement and it had been expected Volodymyr Zelenskyy would sign it when he visited the White House in February.

But that meeting ended in the now infamous Oval Office row involving the Ukrainian president, Trump and JD Vance, with Zelenskyy leaving without signing the agreement.

Blackmail, I’d love to know who thought up this mineral thing, Trump wouldn’t have a clue they even existed, who is behind it all, it’s got to be some backers but who? Nothing was ever mentioned under Biden about any of this, I hope once Trump has gone the next sensible administration rips this agreement up.

With Trump wanting a big 100 days win I reckon it will have been the yanks that made some concessions.

For the deal to bear fruit, there has to be a free Ukraine to honour the deal. No Ukraine, the deal is void. So, it is (presumably) now in US interest to pump arms and aid into Ukraine, because if they don’t this minerals deal is a waste of everyone’s time and it’s only function from Ukraine’s perspective was to keep the US from walking away altogether.

The details will be key to see who is playing who here.

It’s in the US arms manufacturers to be able to flog weapons etc to the Ukrainians. They’ve got the Gaza thing too, they must be making a mint.

As a Pole I instructively don’t trust a single Ukrainian. But I can’t help but feel they are fucked here no matter what. They best hope the Crimea is loaded minerals.

It appears that most countries are doing the right thing in standing up for what is right, the US on the other hand appears to be doing something that they can profit from. Exactly the same as lend lease. Not a trustworthy ally.

Yes as all in Eastern Europe will do well to remember.
