THE CRIMEA GAMBIT: UKRAINE’S STRATEGY FOR ITS RETURN
Ukraine has carried out a successful war against the Russians across Crimea, effectively neutralizing it as an operating military resource and attritting countless russian weapons and EW/radar syst…themilitaryanalyst.com
Crimea is all but neutralised and it costs russia so much money in military hardware trying to rearm it.
That single bridge is not a threat for Ukraine and it was never enough to guarantee civil and military supply on Crimea. It can even last as a symbol for foolish glory when Ukrainians got Crimea back one day and justice is done, hopefully.
The article also points out the systemic advantages of a free thinking Ukraine over a lazy authoritarian putin-russia. Ukrainians are making ice cold analyzes of complex situations and come up with creative solutions. They seem to be 5 moves ahead in chess terms (as the title mentions "gambit" for a reason), at any point - while putin is making weak decisions due to status battle and the typical pride of an emperor.
Ukraine and Europe need to get used to cope with 2 sinister powers and being strategically smart and creative maybe is our only life belt.
