Can't stand the noise there, wakes us up more than our weak bladders;-)Off to the family stand with you lot, some of us are only semi clapped out :)
The government are broadly supportive of safe standing, as long as there's solid evidence that it's at least as safe as the current arrangement. The SGSA has done a preliminary study that suggests it's safer, as it mitigates against a potential crowd collapse with people falling over seats. They're continuing to study it so the more rail seating areas there are, the more evidence they can collect.
As I said, I'm favourable too, I always have been, but I can't see it making much difference to me personally now.The government are broadly supportive of safe standing, as long as there's solid evidence that it's at least as safe as the current arrangement. City need to decide what they're doing with the stadium for the longer term. Where the Family Stand goes, where the single, contiguous singing section should be, where the away fans go, how far round the ground they're going to install rail seating, rather than pissing about here and there, shifting odd blocks or 1,000 seats. Just do it.Doubt it will be, but plans to extend it will probably come later, maybe with extension plans, especially as we still have no idea when the government will give permission for them to be used for standing. At least we’ll be ready to take part in any trials going forward.
Yes. It's all round SS1, from 110 to 119 or 121.I trust we won’t be doing this in the away section ?
City to install rail seating at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City is announcing that work will begin this summer to install 5,620 rail seats in the lower tier of the Etihad Stadium’s South Stand - including the South East and South West corners - to enhance supporter safety, replacing the current seats.www.mancity.com
I believe that the biggest barrier to safe standing is the objections of the Hillsbrough survivors. The government are broadly supportive of safe standing, as long as there's solid evidence that it's at least as safe as the current arrangement.
