Saints (A) Post Match Thread

Our attack is no where near good enough , we basically don't have a striker, Mahrez is not a good fit in our team, Sterling a shadow of himself and Torres great potential but not as a first team regular.
As I said a few are not in good form at the moment but that’s no reason to go out and splash the cash. It’s what our neighbors do!
They are quality players and they will recover their form in due course.
Our attack is plenty good enough.
Form is temporary.
Class is permanent.
Having said all that we do need another quality striker and that is high on the priority list as the club have stated...
A rebuild?? No way.

Your in complete denial.

The legend that is Kun Aguero is finished.

Jesus simply not good enough as an attacking force.

Sterling still misses the simple chances that in the big matches is not good enough.

Mahrez, FFS

Bernardo MIA for 18 months and even at his very best , does not score enough for a player of his ability.

Gundo, Rodri don't contribute enough in terms of goals and even KDB for his incredible ability does not score enough.

We are very, very short in attacking ability.

Very good post. If Kane/Son and Mane/Salah were missing from their teams it would be a massive blow.
On the other hand, we've been saying for 2 years that the Scousers would fold like a cheap suit if Van Dijk was out for a period. Aside from Villa away, it hasnt happened. Also didn't happen to us when KDB basically missed the whole 2018/19 season. When you have a system and momentum, other players seem to step up. We lost both those last year - our dominance was based on pace and extreme width, neither of which we have anymore. Doesn't mean we arent still a very good team, but our system is now different and hasn't quite clicked yet.

Actually don't agree about VVD. For me losing Salah and Mane would severely affect their goal scoring and that's what wins the points in crucial games. Of course you will miss top defenders but if their main strikers were missing for a long period then that would have a much bigger impact on results in my opinion and be a really big problem.

Striker situation - yes, we're one player short right now. Two when Kun leaves. Jesus needs a strike partner.

KDB and B Silva have had their balls chopped by Pep - both are capable of 20 goals a season but Pep wants them to pass when shooting is the best option.

Letting Sane go and buying Mahrez are two club errors.
