He's just an all round better defender, better positioning, makes fewer mistakes and this season looks more comfortable on the ball.

As you say though, its all about opinions but I see no point in replacing lescott unless the replacements a big step up.

Are you being forced to write this nonsense under duration? That can be the only logical explanation for what you've said..............."He's just an all round better defender, better positioning, makes fewer mistakes and this season looks more comfortable on the ball." is frankly, utter rubbish.

Duress?
Ooops,Good point; thrashing myself now - didn't think it looked right just before I pushed 'submit'...........................ta

-- Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:05 am --

Re: chris samba

Could get him for cheap and is only 28 so has a good 4 years in him.
Great back up. Strong tackler and great threat at set pieces.
Could get him for the price we paid for Savic I reckon.

I like Samba. Very, very good defender and won't be overpriced, seeing as how Blackburn are desperate for the money and would have a weak hand when it comes to negotiating any transfer fee. We could even send Kolo the other way or lend them Savic or someone.

He would be good for depth but I would not be looking at him as a long-term partner for Kompany.

Should have bought Samba a couple of years ago, I'd still have him now, way better than Jolene.

He knows how to play and would allow us to rotate where an absent Kolo does not.

I would say he always performs best against the strongest sides but that's doing him a disservice, he's always been a monster whenever I've seen him play. If he's going cheap we'd be daft not to buy him.

But I suspect if he's going anywhere it'll be to utd as they are far more desperate than us and they also need a cheap medium term replacement for Wio and short term replacement for Evans who is shit and in trouble after going out on Boxing Day.

Worth a bid. Not sure if he would come though as he may not get many games.

Would improve us in the air both defensively and attack wise though.

he's off to spurs apparently.....not that harry would ever tap up a player....

Strange if true seeing as Dawson has just come back and they were doing ok with what they had without him.

They have Dawson, King, Gallas, Kaboul, Bassong and Corluka who could play there.

Don't get me wrong, i would love to have him at our place, he's better than lescott IMO

Offer them £5m plus Onouha.
If Kolo wants to go PSG in the summer then so be it, Samba is the bruiser we require who would head the ball out all day long, he would also be a massive threat at set pieces.
I know he is not world class but he does put his body in where it hurts, a strong towering CB who could help us win the title.

I say go for it.
