Samir Nasri - a joy to watch

As stated, doesn't take the necessary risks for me,he's happy to play safe far too often.i look to him to take a game by the scruff of the neck - he rarely does.

Mata is the player i wish he was.

Good footballer, but doesn't use his ability nearly enough. Goes missing to easily, thought he was average at best last night.

Did you ever watch Ali b?

I imagine Nasri would be as good as him in the division below

as one said earlier he is nothing like a winger and he is not good at that position because he slows everything down and a winger should be the opposite, and he is predictable at that position. i think we have a huge problem in the 2 central midfield spots. barry and garcia(i have patience that he'll come good) are not good enough. i think samir is perfect for one of the two spots there, with the other one taken by milner for me who will run and defend all game long. samir is perfect at retaining possesion and doing small 1-2s and that's exactly what we need there.a nasri-milner central midfield with yaya a little more forward would be so much better than garcia-barry. and come january we MUST sign benat also.

Without a doubt he is technically gifted and great at keeping the ball but doesn't take enough risks for me... maybe under instruction? At Arsenal he was a more adventurous and attacking player who scored a lot of goals in his last season there. Here he does everything well but doesn't take many chances which is why he has not proven to be an effective playmaker in Silva's absence. Only 1 assist so far this season and considering he is often our only truly creative player some games that isn't a great return. That cross with the outside of his boot leading to Yaya's goal was lovely though.

And it's this that marks out the run of the mill technically gifted from the Messis and Dave Ewings of this world. I think that Mancini drills the idea of hanging on to the ball at all costs rather than trying something. Mario is the only one who seems to think that a risk is worth it. Sometimes, though, he thinks ANY risk is worth it!

However, the outside of the foot cross should have been cleared before it bobbled back to Yaya. There'd be fifty pages on this forum slagging off whichever defender half-headed the ball back to Yaya!!

Great player but he can offer much more, since Tevez came home he has stepped his game up and this season he has been more consistent with his performances

Is brilliant at keeping possession,Is a good dribbler. He is always available as an option to pass, and can maneuver through tight spaces.Just needs to be a little positive.

I like him but he was awful v Ajax. Spent far to long on the ball around the box, no pace about his game and he was too laid back. He underhit almost every pass he attempted. Usually plays well to be fair to him but Tuesday was one of his most ineffective performances for us imo.

I came away from the Ajax game fuming with him, not because he played badly but just because he did nothing with the ball. We signed him to be creative and we know he can do it just look at his form in the big games and the back end of last season. Very frustrating player because you know he can do it

He is indeed a very skilful player. I do, however, get very frustrated when a promising move slows down or stops when he gets the ball. It happens a number of times each game.

I agree with Mike, Samir twenty touches is so frustrating at times. We have a nice sweeping move going on and then the ball is passed onto Nasri who immediately slows down the play, then has more touches than Jimmy Saville. In the meantime everyone has been marked up and Nasri has two players within a foot of him.

There is no doubt that he is a quality player, but he needs to stop playing in Arsenal mode. Also as stated by others he is far more effective when played in the middle of the park.
