Samir Nasri

Yeah I think Nasri is a bit of a myth. Not nearly as good as many people thought he was. Many Arsenal fans stated this having watched him week in week out. Bit like Johnson for us, the media and public think he is world class and question why he never starts games and only us who watch him week in week out know why.

Naz is world class, or at least has the potential to be. Just needs time to settle in and find his rhythm. I think at the moment other players are carrying him and we can still get a result when he doesn't play his best, Bobby should tell him he needs to step it up though.

It takes some players time to embed themselves into a new team; I thought we all knew this.

Nasri has proven himself in the Premier League and we're getting him at a young age. We definitely haven't seen all that Nasri can give us.

I am sorry but how the hell has Nasri proven himself in the PL? He had a good start of the season with us, and after Xmas he was pretty shit. Apart from that Nasri has done just as much as Arteta. Proven is someone like Henry or Ronaldo who done it for seasons on end.
I know you have to support your players but Nasri's shocking form cannot be excused for. He just isnt as good as people make out. I would say Nani has proven himseld well more than Samir Nasri, and even Aguero.

Don't get carried away. Nasri is an excellent player going through a blip of form. Players like him need consistent starts an he's only just getting that. His stats suggest he's doing well but I think some fans are expecting him to boss games but that's not gonna happen with toure, silva ect in the side as well. Like Milner, he'll find his feet at city, learn his role within a new team, gell and then gain consistency.

Interesting thing I read the other day, Nasri has created the second highest amount of chances for our team behind only Silva. Stats can be misleading but creating chances is a fairly straightforward one for me and it's left to the player who gets the ball to follow up on Nasri's work.

Stats can be used how ever one want to paint a certain picture. Its clear watching him that he is not doing well. This remind me of Keys and Gray having debate about team of the season so far few weeks ago. Gray gave 11 players who he thought was the best in the league so far this season. Keys used the Opta stats and none of Grays 11 made the best 11 according to Opta.

Gray had Hart, kompany and Silva in his 11. none of them made it and according to opta Nasri has been better than Silva this season. Here's the funny thing. best keeper was De Gea lool

David Silva and Samir Nasri have created the most amount of chances in the whole league. Nasri had four excellent games in December too. Against Arsenal his passing stat's were outstanding.

I looked at James Milner last season and thought the same thing about him that is being said about Nasri in this thread but has that not taught any City fans anything? Players do not just walk into a team and start playing to the maximum of their abilities straight away. We wont see the best of Nasri until next season (same goes for Sergio Agüero who I don't think is playing anywhere near to the best of his abilities yet).

Thats fair enough. I just get fed up with people who are using stats and saying he's having a good season, when any sane person can see he's not doing well right now

Pass the ball to him and he will slow down the attacking play, pass the ball to him and he will slow down the attacking play, pass the fucking ball to him and he will slow down the .......... He can fuck off with his fangirls who love to gloat over his non-existent ball rentention ability.

He has ball retention but that is because he moves so slow with it and constantly shields the ball, almost from himself at some points. Doesn't take any risks or have any surging runs, he was infamous for it at Arsenal and Marseille. Not sure what's happened.

I can forgive Bony for not playing well in his first ever champs league game, but Nasri fucking hell does he piss me off.

I see people in other threads buzzing over him and wanking off to ball retention, but he just doesn't suit how we are aiming to play this season with width and pace. He seems to of lost his attacking threat and just slows everything down so much.

Him and Yayas lack of effort tonight just made it look like last season all over again.

Been here before with him. Plays well one game then disappears the next. De Bruyne should know be ahead of him

And that overrated Frenchman who was supposedly not good enough to dictate the tempo, showed Yaya and Silva how to boss the midfield against quality oppositions in Champions League.
