Sanchez [Continued]

Would anyone else get a giggle out of Sanchez being completely incompatible with Barca's ideal style of football (ala Ibra)? He is going to have to learn to release the ball a lot more I feel. If he fails to bed in at Barca, I hope we plant a cheeky 20m bid next year. ;)

If Mancini said that the player was willing to come to us why did we pull out? I guess the obvious reason would be the fee, because if we bid £30m then there's a gap of £14m, because they wanted £44m.

Ah the obligotory smokescreen post!

We purposely send our top brass around the world on expensive flights taking up their precious time in an effort to sign someone else.

Worst.theory.ever.

I think he is pretty incompatible with Barca's style, he is hardly a give and go kind of player

Interesting how Mancini made the comments, maybe they feel it's better if he makes the statement so everyone doesn't go hating Cook & co. Smart by the club i say!

Also Mancini is Italian.. it was on Sky Itaiia, and Im sure Udinese was watching (an Italian club).

It was for Udinese not, Sanchez, not Barcelona, not our fans or the English media. We knew what we were doing.

Got a feeling that we might not be finished here. My guess could be if Barca yet again fail with a deal. now there close to signing Fabergas. they may need to include player/s into the mix. And with all the recent success they have had with that !!!
Could be seeing Gianpaolo Pozzo come running back like a long lost puppy after our offer which is the highest in value as for amount in cash -No players and the agreed fee paid in full!! Not paid in instalments which run for the whole lenght of his contact!
With the only money to be paid later are the reported add ons
And with Barca trying to get him on the cheap by offering a lower amount than us and stating its the one and only offer take it or leave it
Also Mancini claiming that Sanchez has no worries in joining us
Could this be City playing udinese at there own game to hurry up the whole process
Like Barca here is our offer its what we think hes worth BUT its biggest and the best for your club. Stop dicking around with us WE HAVE OTHER TARGETS if we cannot get Sanchez

Good theory, but might fall back on the likelihood that Barca and Udinese will haggle all Summer and we'd have to wait on the sidelines until the end of the window.

Then again any deal we do will probably turn out that way because the names we've been linked too are all targets of other big clubs, and the ownwrs will just repeat what Udinese have done

And at the end of one the stories of us walking away they claimed to have been told our offer is still on the table

Defo something unusual about it all. It's funny once all the English media got wind of the news and made a million headlines the buzz around here stopped.

Barca seem to be launching their last bid forward, who knows. Either Mancini knew we had no chance and jumped before we were pushed, or it was a smart move to keep the price down.

The fact Udinese said he might not go, look like both us and Barca are not willing to meet their valuation and their owner or whatever said something like 'Ask Manchester City'.

Who knows really... But Mancini's comments have worked a charm none the less

Is Friday not the deadline due to a massive insurance payout Chile would have to play if he gets badly injured in Copa America? I forget the details.

Barca have submitted their final offer anyway.

spot on. don't forget, bobby is italian too. he knows how the game is played. it certainly looks dead but I would not be suprised if he signed for City in the next 4 days.

-- Thu Jun 30, 2011 12:58 am --

You never take your offer off the table you just walk away and start working on something else (say a 50 million euro bid for Pastore). That's the kind of thing that gets the selling party moving.

Still find it hard to comprehend that CITY are arm wrestling with the biggest teams in the world.. and we're smiling whilst they're sweating!

Propa bo.
