Sane left out of Germany World Cup Squad

Not sure how this will affect him. Worst case scenario is that he comes back sulking, confidence at rock bottom and thinking he needs to be at a Madrid or a Bayern Munich to nail a place in the squad. I hope and expect with Pep and his team mates help he’ll react positively

Absolute shocker. Shows the difference in standard between England/Germany. He'd be one of the first three names on our teamsheet!

I am German and in shock. It makes absolutely no sense to me and I feel sorry for the lad. Cannot believe it!

For what it's worth, the articles in the German media I have read so far all say it makes no sense, Loew's arguments are not convincing and that it is basically a mistake!

gutted for leroy, but as a blue delighted, as he will come back rested and fresh with no injury worries. young enough for future tournaments i know but must be hard to take for the lad not being on the world stage after an excellent season for us and 2 trophies in his pocket

Well it’s the managers decision regardless if we think it’s right or wrong, but just have that niggling feeling there’s more to it as in,young talent not staying in Germany and being hoovered up by bayern, but going to another team in another country how dare he..

Low pointed out there is nothing wrong with Leroy's attitude on and off the pitch,
but I have the feeling the big guns in the team like Kroos, Khedira, Hummels, Neuer, Müller are not at all happy about Leroy's lacking attitude.

Remember Germany are on a difficult mission to defend the title.
Pressure is on and any half-arsed attitude is a nogo within the squad.

I hope Leroy does accept the critics and works on his own deficits instead of sulking.

It was a decision between LW players, nothing to do with midfield.
But yes, shocked as well.
Draxler and Brandt? Sorry but there is no comparison.

Wtf? Surely something must have happened I expected him to start.
He committed the heinous crime of choosing to play for City, rather than one of the “worldwide elite clubs”, like the Scum, RD’s, Bayern or Real, is what’s happened.

We all know, after the season he’s had, he’d have been a shoe in if he played for anyone else but us.

Gutted for the lad. That being said, from a purely selfish point of view, a full pre season off will benefit City no end

He’ll be absolutely gutted! Feel really bad for him. But hopefully it grounds him and makes him really REALLY focus on his next few years becoming the best player in the World (that’s how highly I rate him!) with City. He’s actually been very poor whenever I’ve seen him for Germany, not quite clicked with him there yet but it’ll come and he’ll prove Löw wrong.

This is even on the TV in NZIts one of those strap lines .. I have a pic .. just have no idea how to

If you don’t work hard in Pep’s team you are on the bench. He said that himself just two weeks ago. He said he can forgive anything, bad pass/bad shot, but he can’t forgive someone not running.

Leroy is one of the hardest working players around.

Anyone who thinks he’s just about attacking needs to have their head read!

A good 3-4 weeks for Pep to train him almost single handely (alongside Foden, Brahim and so forth also) I can't wait.

Sterling should pull out as well, watch the meltdown if that happened. Fuck em.

Club before country these days and everyone knows it.

Manager's decision, tough for the lad, and for Blues who have watched him this season. It appeared he doesn't track back enough!!

Gutted for Leroy, but I am hopeful he will get another chance to show his skills at a major international tournament in the future.

German's loss is City's gain as he will be fully rested for next season.

This can only be a positive for us.
It will make him determined to prove they were wrong to leave him home.
He will come back stronger
