Saturday lunch suggestions.

It's our first trip up in a while, since the pandemic, etc. Same for most, of course. Travelling up from the Midlands, so looking for somewhere to grab some good food pre-match in the south Manchester area, Didsbury, etc.

Dirty burger, great deli sandwich sort of thing. Booze not essential but fine if it is a pub.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
If you’ve got time to kill, The Drop in Chorlton is mega Caribbean food, but can be quite slow.

Proove in West Didsbury does decent pizza. Solita in Didsbury village is good for a burger, but Almost Famous in town is better if you want to get really dirty.

Or if you really want an experience, check out Freight Island, you can get everything there.

Think it was ,
I went to a Stone Roses do there once although maybe that was the international 2 .
Memory from those days is a little hazy for obvious reasons!
They definitely played at Intl 1, I was at that .... Saw so many great gigs there. Debbie Harry, Ramones, Hoodoo Gurus, Icicle Works, Green On Red, Jellyfish, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Long Ryders, Lone Justice, The Mission, and REM to name a few ... actually had a pint before the REM gig in the nearby Rampant Lion, with Peter Buck, Bill Berry and Mike Mills.
Happy daze ....

And the offices of the owner Gareth Evans were directly opposite and up the stairs. Later became Stone Roses HQ when Evans started managing them. The small black door here
