Would there be any other jobs in these seaside towns though? I don’t live in those areas so what other employment is there?
There might well be a lack of decent, secure well paid employment... but the tourism "industry" certainly doesn't provide that either.

Its overall contribution and importance to any employment levels is always overstated and exaggerated by that vested interest lobby group that are the tourism business owners and, as I said, any jobs it does provide are nothing but exploitative, poorly paid temporary positions providing little more than pocket money mostly to kids.

The so called "economic benefits" of the so called tourism "industry" is nothing but a fallacy and a myth anyway, nothing more than propaganda put out by the vested interests that are tourism business owners.

Those tourism business owners are the only people who make a decent liveable income from tourism, all other local people, including local business owners, are left socio-economically worse off as a result of tourism.

A few exploitative minimum wage, zero hours, seasonal jobs providing little more than pocket money mostly to kids, go no way whatsoever towards redressing the imbalance and the economic downsides of tourism.
You're talking bollocks.

Google it. It's easier.
Oh come on now, surely you can do better than that.

And you're going to have try harder than quoting a few fantasy figures provided by vested interest, tourism industry lobby groups such as VisitWales or VisitScotland as a satisfactory answer.

Go for it...

Do you live in any 'touristy' areas, do you have business interests in any 'touristy' areas, do you know people in similar situations ???. If you do you will realise that you are talking bollocks, if you don't, you're in no position to make such comments.

Yes I do live in a tourist area.
Yes I do personally know and deal with tourism business owners and non-tourism business owners in my area.
Yes I do personally know people who work in tourism businesses.
Yes I have actually worked in tourism businesses myself.

Do you actually live in the area where you've got your holiday let?

So come on, why am I talking bollocks? Why are you so shy about actually telling me?
