Scariest away day following City

I remember us away at coventry late 80’s start of season we took thousands, kicked off major before game we ended up in a situation of about 80 of them v prob 40 city, but us 40 were mostly game as fuck & went forwards as apposed to backwards, taught them a lesson big time

Was there a game at Coventry in the 80’s where City fans ripped up seats and were chucking em. My memory recalls reading about it the next day but I didn’t go so can’t be sure. Was it the FA cup loss?

This one was a mid-week league game mate, serious turn out by us that night, not sure about the cup game?

Remember 1980 and we were at Derby away and got beat 3-0

At the End of the Game several hundred of the Local nutjobs invaded the pitch and charged over to us on the side Inviting us to Motal Combat

There was a mega turn out that day from City and after the Fence was vaulted by our lot and on the pitch, the Fearsome Rams (Average Age 15,) turned and fled

Several bricks were thrown at us,but the Police were
Rather worried and made us run on release from the ground to the Station where we boarded the special

Fratton Park 1985 won 2-1 was fiesty too
Pompey seem to have idiots on tap
Dont remember Derby running, they certainly didnt come forward though.

Do remember seeing the City fan who ran on his own into the Derby fans though.

Was at Leeds when another guy did the same thing at the cup tie in 78 running straight into a mob on his own.

We played them in Jan 85 in FA Cup and lost 2-1. Was anyone at that and can remember it?
I was at that game went with Tommy Muir and the lads from the Land O Cakes in town as we did most games back then. If memory serves me right we were in what is now the Championship and they were in Prem. We were by far the better side on the day put in a great performance but lost 2-1. Towards the end seats did start flying from our end and it was kicking off all over the place outside. I would have been 20 back then had some great trips from the Land O very rarely got to many away games in time for kick off and always well oiled.

I was at Pompey that day.
Everybody went mental when Kinsey scored apart from me. I was watching the fighting in the seats to our right.
It had been going off all game sporadically. When we scored the first thing I did was look over to see what was happening.
There didn’t seem to be any stewards or police in there and a huge brawl had erupted.

It was fun at the station as well. They werent too happy about us winning, as we were both going for promotion. They always had a decent amount of nutters for aways, but at home the whole town comes out, and its a grim old place.

In Newcastle they simply read where the tax disc was issued
I drove to Sunderland away. Just before Xmas. My old man says on xmas day before lunch who keyed your car. I went out car 6 months old. All down the side. Not a happy day. I rarely drove to a game in he first place. Train or coach ever since.

Pretty sure it was the FA Cup Game... City fans singing "Shout Shout.. rip the seats out... we're Man City and we don't fuck about"

We played Coventry in 3rd round of the FA cup in 85 and that's the game I remember where the seats were ripped out. Absolutely sure that was a Saturday and not a Wednesday game so maybe different game to ones other people have mentioned. Lost 2-0 or 2-1 and rember that little shit Terry Gibson scoring for them. Weren't Coventry the first ones to try all seater grounds before anyone had to have them. Seme to think it became the norm that away fans ripped the seats out every week. Didn't rip any out myself but remember one whistling past my ear.
