With the same amount of game time, Foden would do no worse than Gundogan. He would have his good games and his bad games, exactly like Ilkay.
Foden is nowhere near that quality yet. He struggled to get into the games against Rotherham h, Burton a and Newport a until Newport started getting tired.

Gundogan is many levels in quality up on Foden.

By the time Foden is Gundo’s age he might be a better player but to say he’d do no worse now is a bit mad.

Something along the lines of 'it worked and we support the ref's decisions?'
Yeah, plus something about a special circumstance justifying the decision to ignore the VAR procedures. Their choices are really that or sack the ref+VAR team from UEFA duty, which is what FIFA threatened to do in that scenario and did with the ref from the Serbia v Swiss game.

100% agree. As much as I've been on the Gundo wagon I don't think Phil playing in his stead would hamstring the team. Gundos moments have been great but increasingly inconsistent... His disappearing acts unfortunately have become his calling card of late.
The difference in the quality of the two was clear to see in the Rotherham game. Foden struggled to understand a football basic of where to run to find space to be passed to as he’s a novice (38 touches in 90mins against a bottom Championship team), while Gundo was pulling the team’s strings all game.

Foden is a skinny kid with no experience and no evidence of what kind of midfielder he’s going to be yet, but has loads of potential. Against grown men away from home in the CL, he’d drown. Kev and David were poor last night so I dread to think what Foden would have been like.

Great result. Well done for beating the corruption city.
Nightmare getting back. Wheelchair battery was low and could i find a plug, ended in in the first aid room at the stadium to give it a blast. Wasnt enough and because i couldnt get over the footbridge (like feyenoord ) had to travel up the line for a mile. Battery now shit we had to take refuge in the Marriott. By the time there was enough charge the trams had stopped running. Ok grab a beer and work out what to do. No taxi could fit us in with a chair. Eventually got one from a dussledorf firm. 40 euros to gelsenkirchen.,bargain when your are stranded. Train to duss is at 3.09, well except the only lift out of order is ours to the platform. SoS a train guy and he sorts it. At dussledorf battery packs so kbb has to push me a mile, poor bugger and a legend. Me wife and grandson got to bed around. 5 am.
I love you City but you are pushing it now .

Not really you're not :)
You need a sedan chair Bill.

Until the Chelsea game, Gundogans best performance in a City shirt was in 2016 against Barcelona. Since then, he has largely been absolute turd. If we have afforded Gundogan this leeway, why should Foden be any different? Too many people are being blinded by Gundogans semi-decent form over the past month and easily forgetting the dross he has served up for the 2 years previous to it.

If Gundogan continues his improvement, I agree Foden will have his time limited but should he revert back to typical Gundogan, I have no issues with him being binned for Foden.

I am certainly not a fucking Rag, but I was thrown off the WC thread for taking the piss, or as I called it, being fucking truthful about England’s overall performance. I was of course right. Anyway, I like being a wee bit oppressed, I’m Scottish. I won’t lose sleep, but the threads will lose my brilliant footballing mind. :)

You was on everyday pissing on peoples parade. How would you like it, if it was the other way round.
Some of us like to see England do well, irrespective of how good YOU think the performance is/was.

Blooming heck Bill, that is total dedication. Hope things go better for you getting home. Take care and safe journey. :-)

Edit: You are NOT past it, you are just a youngster. Keep up the good work.

He could have said also that in his OPINION they were not.
That’s just as naive as your previous comment, please just watch the interview again and look for the sarcasm. Even when he says “it’s a penalty”, he’s clearly talking about the decision which was given as a penalty, not his opinion, as he’s already told you in that first couple of lines why City aren’t ready to win the Champions League yet.

If he says in his opinion they aren’t penalties, you know what the media and UEFA are like, it’ll get escalated beyond belief and turned into a reason to ban him from the touchline. Just like it did after the Liverpool game when the whole world could see at least 5 incorrect decisions that went against us, yet it was Pep who got a touchline ban for actually saying it.
