Great result. Well done for beating the corruption city.
Nightmare getting back. Wheelchair battery was low and could i find a plug, ended in in the first aid room at the stadium to give it a blast. Wasnt enough and because i couldnt get over the footbridge (like feyenoord ) had to travel up the line for a mile. Battery now shit we had to take refuge in the Marriott. By the time there was enough charge the trams had stopped running. Ok grab a beer and work out what to do. No taxi could fit us in with a chair. Eventually got one from a dussledorf firm. 40 euros to gelsenkirchen.,bargain when your are stranded. Train to duss is at 3.09, well except the only lift out of order is ours to the platform. SoS a train guy and he sorts it. At dussledorf battery packs so kbb has to push me a mile, poor bugger and a legend. Me wife and grandson got to bed around. 5 am.
I love you City but you are pushing it now .

Not really you're not :)
Christ on a bike! Glad you got back safe.

I am not completely sure of the rules, but I have heard it said that VAR should only over-rule a refereeing error that is clear and obvious.

We know the ball was struck from distance and struck Ota's arm. But was he deliberately making himself a bigger target using his arms or was he pulling them in behind his back. You can even say both. I think VAR came to the wrong conclusion. The Fern pen was a pen. We can not dispute this although we see these type of offences all the time and they are rarely given. Unfortunately this one was right in front of the ref and the player made a meal of it.

The Ota 2nd yellow was also very harsh.

I have seen Pep's post-match interview when he accepted the decisions but those interviews contain all kinds of agenda.

This all worked out in our favour. It created a great moment and event that will stay with us in a game that would otherwise have been pretty non-descript.

I am beginning now to think about the potential for this season. Was the comeback our Giggs moment? I didn't want one as I didn't want the tension. It wasn't of the same importance or drama/theatre but it was of a similar kind and it will only help our mentality.
The Fern one was a weird one, i thought the foul def deserves a pen but then when you see Nastasic is offside AND is 100% interfering in play as he has made movements towards the ball, then it's offside before the foul. But maybe thats pedantic.

No issues with Otamendi's yellow, stupid tackle from a (sometimes) thick player.

Think Pep's statement was also a bit tongue-in-cheek.

I think it might be a wake up call that you can't walk through these games, if you try that then you'll be in deep shit in this competition.

Might be paranoia but it looked for our first goal that Schalke were demanding a review and the officials gave in and were looking for an excuse to rule it out. Ian Darke on BT was clutching at straws - hoping it would be chalked off
They’re supposed to be booked for asking for a review
