Until the Chelsea game, Gundogans best performance in a City shirt was in 2016 against Barcelona. Since then, he has largely been absolute turd. If we have afforded Gundogan this leeway, why should Foden be any different? Too many people are being blinded by Gundogans semi-decent form over the past month and easily forgetting the dross he has served up for the 2 years previous to it.

If Gundogan continues his improvement, I agree Foden will have his time limited but should he revert back to typical Gundogan, I have no issues with him being binned for Foden.

Gundo has been decent. We can hardly blame his for the times he’s been out with a crucial knee jury.

Phil needs to seize the limited chances he gets. He really stated to do that Vs Newport but was anonymous for much of Burton Away and Rotherham at home. He will get better with more game time like several posters have said.

We need to rid the air of complacency that seems to descend on the team when we seem to be in total control, against the top teams in Europe we will not get away with it .

Half a dozen before he gets the yellow as well.

It was a pisstake near the end last night when the Schalke defender bundled over Gundo and then ran back towards his own box to take down Sterling. No yellow was given lol. It was the same Schalke defender who had been in the refs face for most of the game. What a surprise!

But maybe then we would not be complacent? This is a side that got 100 points last season. If we are one thing it is grounded.

Were we complacent at 1-0 yesterday. Yes! However I don't think you can really say we exhibit this as a team. You can find evidence for it if you look for it, but the overall record is not one of throwing wins away. Sure there's the odd instance and yes it can emerge as a new trend and Pep needs to guard against it.

We also let a perceived injustice (first VAR pen) rattle us and throw up out of our rhythm. I think Peo in accepting the VAR decision and Ota’s sending off is trying to get us over that. I know it’s easier said that’s done because many of us (myself included) rush on here to highlight the refs mistakes.

When advantage was taken into account they committed around treble the fouls, a good lot of them cynical fouls to deliberately stop good breaks (that one and another multiple times by the same player on the same break), but received less bookings. Par for the course.

Great character on show but we were poor.

Not as poor as the pitch, but far too slow, far too willing to coast for ten-minute periods (done repeatedly this season)

De Bruyne could end up being our Rodney Marsh this season if he doesn't now get quicker up to speed. The system is again trying to accommodate both him and Bernardo in the same starting line up, which then impacts the decision-making process on Sane and Sterling.

Laporte can't play that left-back hand side at the level required, nor Fern, dropping in to make an additional centre-back.

I felt sorry for the two Silva's last night, who showed the right levels throughout.

Sterling, prior to his match-winning goal, wasn't great.

Please let's get back to playing on the edge, meaning Leroy and Sterling, with Bernardo doing his thing in midfield.

The pace, mental sharpness and composure will be completely different against a "top team".
Happens to all teams.
