You don't have to believe in conspiracy theories to see a pattern of outrageous officiating in City's Champions League games.

I don't believe in an actual conspiracy, but I do believe that refs have the impression that there will be no repercussions against them for shafting City.

I thought it was a penalty but it shouldn’t have been given (due to the screen not working for VAR).

For me, there was enough distance between the ball and the player and he takes a bit too long before realising and retracting his arm. I think he’ll feel hard done by though, although if I was the attacker or had it happened for us, I’d have been shouting for it.

In real time, he had no chance.

They originally said, they were going to use 'real time' as the main guide.

Just like they said it would only be used for clear & obvious errors.

The handball is clear for me. The shots going in and Otamendi diverts the ball. The second penalty is a needless pull by Fernandinho.

We're fortunate that Schalke aren't very good.

Of course it's a great result, but it wasn't a great performance.

He was trying to get his arm out of the way of the ball so it simply CANNOT be deliberate. I see needless pulls by players in every match I watch and probably 1 out of 20 are awarded penalties. Even the commentators said, before those decisions were awarded we were giving them a footballing lesson. To win that game with 10 men, is bloody good. Get behind them.

Under VAR rules, I honestly think it shouldn’t have gone to VAR. It wasn’t a clear and obvious error by any definition.
The thing is, in the CL, the referee should be the one making the final decision, he is advised to have another look, and there is (supposed to be) a screen on the touchline for him to go look at and make the decision, without that what he decided should stand, ie a corner.

Do you think that the handball was deliberate?
