Imagine my consternation several beers in at a sports book in Vegas with a few City friends at the conference we were supposed to be attending but blowing off for the match! Was horrible to see that thread when it was obvious even to the neutrals in the book that we were getting screwed over. Spoiled rotten with success; great testament to our talent and determination that we came through two men down to snatch that and great satisfaction beating the Deustche Everton. We never doubted (though we admittedly moaned that we should have brought on Sane sooner . . . :) )
Just back to the hotel and just seen both penalties on the highlights.
I’ve read a bit on here so won’t expand beyond saying they were both penalties. The 2nd was offside so should never have got that far but it was a foul and the game played on.
That said we were worthy winners and are essentially through.

How can you possibly not utterly love pretty much every minute of following this club right now? If you can’t enjoy this, then give up - seriously.
This could turn out to be a truly incredible season. We’ve been fortunate with cup draws so far, but there will be some tough cup ties ahead. It could get insanely intense in the Spring.
Several of the knicker wetters are going to spontaneously combust during late April and early May (and hopefully beyond!) when we reach the denouement of the season.

Me too, mate. I’d given up on seeing us win anything. I think the away quarter final in 2007 at Blackburn (when blues turned on blues) did it for me. After that, I thought we would always capitulate at some point in a cup run (which is all we could ever realistically win back then)and that's where you can separate the proper blues from the knicker wetters!
11 years ago I just wanted us to get to a league cup final! that was my dream!
Anything now is just a bonus!

Getting the 8:20 out of Piccadilly back Monday, got to be a better journey than my 7 hours back from NewportMe neither. I found out today I’m working relatively nearby on the Monday, which was a nice bonus! Booked a room for Sunday tonight.

The fans were great and Cardiff was a good night out, found a great curry house on Charlotte street in the brewery quarterI’m in Newport in a couple of weeks too! Wish I’d gone on Saturday tbh.
