He quit because successive England managers played to the media gallery about playing Gerard and Lampard together in the middle and shunting Scholes our to the left.

And he was correct to do so as he was better then both of them put together. It was disgraceful the way the English fa treated him.

Paul scholes May have been a utd player but he was he greatest English midfielder , alongside gascoigne in decades.

An absolutely superb footballer.
