If you take away the fact that Scholes was a United player, then it's hard to find fault with what he's said - just as many of my City mates have agreed so.

Ferdinand's tweets though, were a joke, but then he's a fucking clown anyway.

Some of my United mates complain on a weekly basis how whenever their games are covered, it's always an ex-Liverpool player providing the "expert analysis".
 
united had to have somebody working in the champions league this season or they would be watch eastenders other than itv and Manchester city I think he had a good game but should have got booked for the mouthing he was giving also I think lee dixon man marked him out of the game at fullback but the ref was shocking adrian Charles how did you miss so much

Spot on mate. I played cricket against him years ago (just before he started becoming a regular in the first team squad and the GPC stopped him playing). He was an obnoxious little cnut even then. And that was not just through my blue-tinted specs, the rags on my team thought exactly the same.

My issue was he had his intro all worked out before a ball had even be kicked.

He mentioned our fans in a piece with the Independent the other week. He's since allowed that to percolate in his tiny-red infested mind.

I'm sure it sounded quite clever in his head, he had it all worked out, also dovetailed quite nicely with the empty seats backdrop 15 minutes before kick-off.

Show me a ground outside of Turkey or Greece where this supposed stadium is full and bouncing in anticipation.

He cited the shit hole, Arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea.

I cant believe people on here are defending him. What a fookin joke!. He was rippin our fans so much, he had to be interupted and taken off the subject. Was sayin we dont create an atmos like chels, arsenal and rags who 'get old trafford rockin'. What a deluded twat !. Just ripped us constantly while that soft twat of a so called city fan just sat there !.

I can only assume scholes got a right ribbin off a bunch of city fans on his way to the studio and was worked up because that was a joke !. Disgraceful.
 
The bottom line about Scholes, and Ferdinand, and the rag twat blogger for the Eurosport's 'it should have been the swamp' piece, and the rest of them, is that this is all they have left.

Better team? Nope, the rags are shit. The last 6 derby matches reveal 5 City wins and one (last minute) rag win. A grand total of 19-6 to City. They spunked £200m on players this year and still conceded 5 at Leicester. The wheels have come off the rags' team bus in spectacular fashion and everyone in football knows it.

History? (as in number of trophies won) Maybe, but it sounds a bit hollow given that they have spent 20 years taking the piss out of the dippers for having nothing but their history. These days, we wear the gold 'champions' patches on our sleeves for a reason.

Resources? Once we were the poor relation, but the tables have turned quite dramatically. Our owners are pouring millions into the club, theirs are bleeding millions out of it.

Progress in Europe? Well, you have to be in Europe to progress and Hull have had more European football than the rags this season. City may have only had 37,000 at the game, but that's 37,000 more than will watch Champions League football at the swamp this season - and it isn't looking good for next season either.

So what else can they use as a vehicle for their snide comments? There isn't much left, really. 'Their fans are shit and the atmosphere is shit'. That's about all they can say. Sort of reminds me of what we said about them 20 years ago.

It's irritating that ITV gave Scholes his platform, and maybe some of the things he said might have been reasonable points coming from somebody else, without the snide digs thrown in for good measure. But the fact remains that this is the only stick they have to beat us with - and it's not exactly a big stick at that.

For my part, I think 'is that all you've got left? Yes it probably is.'
 
I used to get really worked up by all this but it doesn't bother me anymore, whatever Sky, ITV, the papers or ex-rags can say is no different to what I've heard since the takeover, and it isn't going to stop us progressing on and off the pitch.

I expect it now, doesn't mean I like it but it doesn't wind me up, and I recommend not getting worked up about it, same with empty seat watchers.

I'm more concerned that we don't seem to learn from our mistakes in Europe, we need that extra man in midfield imo
 
Scholes is a fuck wit, but that does not hide from the fact that it was a champions league game against a huge opponent and there were empty seats everywhere. I got into the ground and thought its probably becuase people are still queuing up and it will probably fill up soon, NO.... I was abosolutely baffled by it. Everyone goes on about the price of these games but these are the games you a should be making time and money for, isnt that the point?

Also i spent most of the game trying to get songs going in 111 and try help boost the atmosphere with a few other people, but the guy stood next to me was more interested in videoing the roma fans. Who werent actually that good by the way. It seems these games attract arseholes aswell because he clearly was not a regular.

Im 24, i cant afford it really but i make it work and if i can do it on a shite salary then so can others ( im also a season ticket holder and have been for 17 years, since i was 7)

Frankly im embarressed by some of our supporters who think scholes comments even matter, but for fucks sake you have to realise that was poor last night?

We have great support but mainly on away days. We dont turn up when it matters in home games like this. And it really does matter.
 
It's very interesting to note just how little Scholes and Ferdinand know about the glorious history of their illustrious club. I bet they've never pointed out to anyone that the scum were in their fourth season of the CL before they actually got within a thousand fans of OT's capacity. I bet they've never pointed out that their match at OT in 1994 against Barcelona got only 40000 fans, that their highest attendance was against Sheffield Wednesday that season and the Barcelona gate didn't find its way into United's top ten that season, all of which were PL matches. And they were increasing the capacity of OT -"what for?" to quote a phrase. Then, even when they were defending holders in 2000 the crowd were so silent until their team was so far behind at 0-3 that it was asked if anyone was actually there - until we heard a pathetic, submissive whimper of "United". Even when your team used to be in the CL fans only went to watch when UEFA gave you such easy groups that even your team could qualify - and then the could only be heard when the game was won, as Basel showed. After all, Paul and Wio, "prawn sandwich brigade" was coined to describe your fans, not ours.

I had 8 rows of empty seats in front of me as I watched from my season ticket in tier 3 of the East stand. Disgrace. "We've not taken to it", "the ticket prices", "I can't afford it", PATHETIC. Are our fans really the poorest people in football? Really?, the scoucers who have fuck all will sell out every CL match. It was the crowd who dragged them over the line in their last game in the CL.

Tonight we had no crowd, hence no atmosphere and no passion. Sheikh Mansour must wonder why he bothered.

Either support City or don't. Get to the game, forget the excuses, find a way, and make yourself heard. Period.

This is a good post and hard to disagree with. However the original point is about Scholes and his obvious loyalties and dislike of City. No one's blaming him on the defeat but it's worth the point about his clear bias against City ( I thought the ginger twat was ready to burst out laughing!)and why, and how ITV saw fit to bring the tramp in as a pundit for this game??? He has no wish to give any praise or plaudits to City as a team or club, and Lee Dixon who is a blue is much to professional to tell him to 'just fuck up!!' Never mind the fact Scholes is an ex dyed in the wool red (Oldham.......never) and as a pundit is absolutely awful.Should never have been on that show for that match. He enjoyed that result just slightly less than a defeat. He really is a hateful fucker.

Come on now, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan are huge Italian teams. Roma are only considered big because they're from the capital city. As far as I'm concerned they'd be the equivalent of an Italian West Ham.

We've been unlucky in the way the fixtures have been drawn (thanks once again UEFA). Roma and Moscow, not exactly huge draws, then Bayern Munich when the group will be as good as over.

Be interesting to see how many empty seats there'll be in Rome for the last game of the group. We'll see just how big Roma are then.
 
Yes he really is a spiteful, bitter, hateful rag who is hurting like hell.

His career is over,his club is reeling after all the years of success and he is treading water while the ship sinks. Desperate for a job,something to keep him involved with the game but with no personality at all, he is being given every opportunity but knows how bad he is, he must be crawling with shame at his performances on camera, squirming with embarrassment because it is so unnatural for him to be there.

Actually funny to see the rag so bitter, he is hurting like hell and it will last a long long time.

When I watch Italian football on tv, I see loads of empty seats, Didn't Juventus move to smaller stadium because of dwindling crowds, even spanish footy the grounds are not full. The rags on tv go on about our support for obvious reasons, don't let it bother you. My brother been a st holder at the swamp for over 40 years, he always says that there is plenty of empty seats near where he sits.
