I'd want her sacked, she should have thought about the consequences of her actions before bullying your little girl.

Bullying? Really?

Yeah Id say bullying definitely

The woman was clearly using her power to ridicule the child and force her to do something against her will

No decent person would do that

Ask yourself what right minded person would make a child remove food from a bin and eat it and then ask yourself if you'd feel comfortable allowing that person to be in charge of the care of children.

The said butty was wrapped up, even dad said so.

Not right but let's not go over the top as the first rant on here did. He seems to have vented his anger now and cool downed.

What difference does it being wrapped up make ? She has no right to try and make her eat anything if she doesn't want to, much less something out of the bin ! It was a totally bizarre thing to do and completely inappropriate. I wouldn't want her near my child if she's such a friggin loon and no allowances should be made for such draconian behaviour. There is a huge difference between a error in judgment and knowing right from wrong and in this case she clearly cannot distinguish between the two.

You tell em bob.

Bang on Bob

She'll do something similar again probably

Sackable offence in my eyes, Id be going to the press

That letter of apology sounds like a bit of an in-house cover up.
You need to report it to Ofsted or the school governors/local authority if your going to get serious about it.....I would.

Nail the woman, your child could have contracted anything out of that bin and I hate to say it, might be affected mentally over it.

Report to Ofsted that your poor little dear was asked to eat all her dinner. Ha! Ha! Ha! Fucking. Hilarious. You fucking pair of tools. Get. A. grip. You want it all don't you - "my little darling hurt her knee and nobody put a plaster on it, I'm suing the school/world/anywhere else that will listen to my fucking nonsense."

I haven't laughed so hard for along time. Fucking priceless OP. You clearly have the IQ of a bumble bee. I will share your tale with the staff at the school I teach in - you have guaranteed a fucking great dinner time.

I never thought I'd find such an hilarious story tonight. I was wrong. Brilliant. Thank you.

Sorry, but I have to add.... Ha! ha! fucking Ha!

Maybe the dinner lady was just having a bad day and lost it a little ... We've all had our mad moments - she might have seen a African appeal that morning showing kids starving to death and then comes into work and see's kids chucking away perfectly good food. You have no idea that she ''forced'' her to eat her sandwich, she may have taking it out and explained to your girl that it's a perfectly nice sandwich and you really should eat your lunch as it's a important part of day.

My eldest girl was having her packed lunch at school on Monday, and didn't eat all of her sandwiches. She ate most of it and then put it in the tin foil and threw it in the bin, to her shock and horror the head dinner lady picked it out of the bin, and made YES made her eat it. My daughter was distraught and when I was told by the head teacher I was fucking fuming, so a letter of complaint was duely done. I've had a reply today saying basically she's done wrong, broke health and safety rules, caused my daughter unnecessary distress, she had no rights to make my daughter eat her dinner, as she brought it from home. What does the dinner lady get ?, a slap on the wrists, now I'm baying for blood and want her to be made an example of. Is what shes done a sackable offence, in your eyes?, because in mine it certainly is,and to make it worse I'm a governor at the school.

If you do take it further, do try to learn about the correct use of the apostrophe. And the spelling of words such as "duly". I'm surmising you're not the brightest candle - maybe you spent too long in the canteen.

You're a Governor? Clearly the bar was set low. Very low.

As a teacher, what do you think the appropriate level of punishment would be?

The kid could have embroidered the whole story,to get nicer sandwiches.
You know what girls are like.

Dinner lady was definitely out of order, but some of the comments on here have gone right over the top.

Counselling?....ffs!......Maybe if you have had your legs blown off in Afghanistan, certainly.

A written apology from her to your daughter, plus say, a couple of weeks suspension should suffice.

All (imho)
