It hasn't been that smooth for England. Had a few scares in previous tournments during the group stages.

Sure but still reached a final and a semi final just in the last 5 years, of course it's expected with England's far bigger population but there is no excuse for not being able to do what the other home nations have, and we're just talking about getting out of the group stage, God forbid actually having some success like some other small nations e.g. Croatia, Uruguay...etc.
