Nigel also has only a year on his contract, respected around Europe as one of the very best in his specialist position. And I bet we end up getting less for him than we shell out for Sinclair

It's madness mate and leaves a sour taste.

I won't be alone in saying that De Jong will be sorely missed if/when he leaves.

In regards Sinclair he might not be the world star we all expect but I for one thought AJ was never going to fulfil his potential. Lets all get behind Sinclair if he signs and he might just surprise the cynics and become a world star.

I blame all those football computer games. You know the ones, where you can just buy any player you want irrespective. I think as a result peoples vision of whats reality in club football transfers is diminished. Mainly a kids genre of game if i recall as well?

For not wanting us to sign shit players? Why?

FIFA 11 or 12?

I said 'one of the best'. Others may have better passing, but the likes of Busquets and Alonso aren't in Nigel's league as a ball-winner or a 'pure' defensive DM shielding the back four. The fact he plays for City and Holland and is being fought over by AC and Inter Milan suggests he is one of the best players of his type in the world

Agree with this 100%, the guy has made over 60 appearances for one of the best national teams in the world ffs. He would walk into Milan or Inters team.

I dont want to turn this is to anything anti De Jong as he has done well for us. However, if he was as good as you say then why are teams willing to pay £20m for him? We have seen top players go for that amount and more even being in the last year of their contract - but now he wouldnt command the fee that Sinclair does. Does that not tell its own story.

Ive yet to see anything concrete regarding De Jong going to Milan but their midfield isnt exactly brilliant. Being fought over by Milan and Inter when the fee is £4m is fine - if the fee was £10m would anyone be in for him?

Maybe the issue is that we are desperate to get some money back or we are useless at negotiating outgoing transfer fees?

Sky Sports understands Swansea have seen a €7million (£5.5m) bid for Spaniard Pablo Hernandez accepted by Valencia, with the winger set to sign a three-year deal with the Welsh side.

I fully expect Sinclair to sign now they have made the move for Hernandez.

Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City and Swansea have agreed a fee of £6.2million for Scott Sinclair, with the winger set to have a medical with Roberto Mancini's side later today. We will bring you more on this story shortly.

deal is on

i suppose there are better out there but if its a choice of sign sinclair or play the season without a winger then sign him all day long

Might as well drive our title to trafford now
You've proper lost it now haven't you?!
Sinclair will obviously lose us the title.

He won't win it that's for sure
Neither will Silva or Aguero. Combined though they will assist in winning it. Players who cost £6m or £660m don't win the title on their own. Christ, this is embarrassing!
