Aye. I doubt Sturridge would cost more than £10million to £12million with only a year left on his contract and is better than Sinclair, but he has an ego the size of the moon and would have demands. Presumably Sinclair will be happy with a 'squad' role if he signs, he'd be very naive (or greedy) to sign otherwise.

Well, Muniain would cost a fortune and would need to play a lot to reach his potential. But it strikes me that we are looking domestic for a winger for some reason (Marwood? Homegrown quota concerns?), otherwise yes there could be some great deals abroad like Jefferson Farfan.

Yaya Toure is an Arsenal reject. Balotelli is a Barca reject. Just because he didn't make it at Chelsea does not mean he couldn't do a job for us.

I think the problem is that we are looking for players who are better than our current players. Fucking difficult with our outlay the past few seasons. Sinclair is a good player and 4 years ago we would have been delighted signing him. Times have changed and we look at our current squad and think where can we improve? Sinclair is not someone who will get in our strongest 11 at the moment. We want to take it to the next level and Bobby feels the same. He will get his way in my opinion. Stay patient.

Of course he's not the best winger we could get. However, it seems like he ticks the most boxes.

-Genuine winger (unlike Johnson) so would provide a Plan B
-Premiership experience
It's all very well and good plucking a young reasonably cheap winger for Germany, but he wouldn't fulfil all the criteria that we require, as outlines above. Sinclair makes perfect sense IMO. He will not sell shirts for us, but we are not the new Galcticos, nor does the board want us to be, being the prudent businessmen they have proven themselves to be.
